This makes absolutely no sense. Brad quite literally said he traded him because of the difficulty of paying two players 70% of the cap and building the team around them lol. Bill was clearly saying he didn’t tell Brad to trade him to strictly get rid of his contract so ownership doesn’t have to pay…. Unfortunately the outcome is while Bill didn’t tell Brad to move him just for money Brad moved him due to money and the limitations it created TO HELP BUILD A BETTER TEAM LONG TERM.
katsu@katsuxbt

Draymond Green and Jemele Hill say the Celtics lied to fans about why they traded Jaylen Brown and pushed a narrative that makes Black kids afraid to be smart DG: “Just say, ‘We gotta trade him because it’s a money issue.’ Don’t make African-American kids afraid to be intelligent” JH: “But you can’t admit that if you’re the owner. You can’t say ‘we traded this dude because it’s about money’ because then people go, ‘Hold up, aren’t you the same group that just paid $6 billion for this franchise?’ They’re better off selling this racist narrative that Jaylen Brown is too smart than telling the fan base: actually, we ain’t got the money”

Me: “I’m not going to call the Jaylen trade a success or a failure until I see what the assets and future flexibility turns into.” Angry Cs fan: “You’re a fucking idiot if you think this was a good trade. It’s just ownership not wanting to pay and Brad sucking at his job. This is probably the worst trade in NBA history and I refuse to wait to see what Brad does with the assets and future flexibility.”

Celtics now have a little over 10 mill to spend before hitting first apron cap and officially about 1.7 mill under tax

Joe Mazzulla on his reaction when he heard the Celtics traded Jaylen Brown: "There's an emotion that goes into it. There's a processing pattern that goes into it ... he made me a better coach. I know that for a fact, the way he pushed me, the way he pushed himself, the way he pushed the locker room, he made me a better coach and that's what you focus on." - @CLNSMedia | Q: @RealBobManning

1. They are literally already under the tax payer apron 2. You understand with Mitch MLE and Queta extension they already have committed to 29 mill more in contracts in 2027-28 right? Why do you guys keep pretending these moves aren’t basketball related lol If they don’t spend in 2027-28 then you can cry but nothing they’ve done says they aren’t going to spend. How about just taking a breath and understanding the CBA?
spreadsheet’s greatest warrior@comBradStevens

@John_Karalis The Private Equity roster is complete. I wonder who they’ll move at the trade deadline to get under the Tax-Payer Funded New Stadium apron?

Just say you don’t understand the CBA it’s just so much easier
Pjhara@PJHaranas

@CoreyB08 The final product will be THIS season's results. If you try and point to anything beyond this season, save it. The point is to be as competitive as you can, this is not the most competitive team they could have had THIS season. You don't grade on a curve with a situation like thi

Once again just say you don’t understand the new CBA 5 teams in the 21st century have multiple titles Lakers, Spurs, Warriors, Heat, Celtics We have had 8 different champions the last 8 seasons You are the one who thinks the NBA is 2K and you can just make any trade with no financial or CBA Apron penalties that affect building a roster now and the next 5+ years. Again if you don’t understand the CBA that’s fine because it’s very confusing.
Pjhara@PJHaranas

@CoreyB08 just keep playing GM mode on 2K or whatever it is you enjoy about basketball. They are still on the best run they've had since the 80s and its still been just 2 titles in 40 yrs, who gives a shit - as a fan - about long term planning here. they didn't need to do it this season.

1. Countless times said I’d be happy getting Giannis for the right price. Never said I wanted them to send over everything Bucks wanted and cap their abilities to build 2. Said I’d rather keep Jaylen than take a crap deal…..we have 0 idea how the deal pans out unless you’re mindfulbob whose can tell the future 3. I never said we were “better off” I said Brad got two expected great picks and earlier roster flexibility. I’ve said at least 20x just to you alone I have no idea if the trade will end badly or positively because we have 0 fucking idea how the assets and flexibility is used. We have no idea if ownership will spend in 2027-28 Incredibly you are to fucking dumb to understand any of this. Once again Me: I will not call the trade a success or failure until the assets/flexibility moves occur You: Celtics suck and will suck no matter what happens because I’m a fucking fortune teller.
MindfulMob@riskythinking

@CoreyB08 Says the guy who wanted Giannis & doesn't realize Brad knew all of this & kept around for a season. Says the guy who said he would rather keep JB than trade him for a crap deal & is now pretending like we are better off.

“How can you call the Dwhite trade successful for Boston since Spurs haven’t used the 2029 pick” My lord I needed a laugh today
MindfulMob@riskythinking

@CoreyB08 Aren't you the same guy talking up the great DW trade being a success even though all the asset moves haven't occurred? If the 1 pick & 1 swap turn out awful but we somehow land a superstar with a 2nd rounder are you going to pretend like that's a win we?

@CoreyB08 Paying into the 2nd apron for 5 more years would have brought at least one more championship little Corey

So teams should never trade for players with future picks when they have the ability to build a title team by moving those picks? Got it. Celtics should honestly just make no trades ever. Keep this same exact squad. No idea why we even traded Jrue or any of them. Should’ve paid 2nd apron for the next 5 years for the same 2023-24.
MindfulMob@riskythinking

@CoreyB08 I am just going off your logic. You said we can't judge a trade until all the moves have been made. But now because he was the 5th best player on a title team, it doesn't matter if SA swap ends up being #2 & turns into a HOFER?

Show me where I said we were going to land a superstar with those picks? I want you to post one time I wrote “Celtics will use those picks to get a top level superstar” The NBA is about team construction. Knicks just won with 1 super star Thunder just won with 1 super star Denver just won with 1 super star Bucks just won with 1 super star Warriors just won with 1 super star In fact the only team to win a title with multiple top 15 players the last 8 years is the Celtics Just because it’s not a superstar in return doesn’t mean the assets can’t get you elite level players to build a team around. And it’s fucking hilarious how you guys can’t read. I’ve said countless times so open up your eyes big and wide when you read. I DID NOT SAY THIS TRADE WAS SUCCESSFUL OR A FAILURE BECAUSE WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT BRAD WILL DO WITH ASSETS OR FUTURE FLEXIBILITY. IT WOULD BE MORONIC FOR ME TO CLAIM THE TRADE IS A FAILURE OR SUCCESS WITH NO TIME MACHINE OR MAGICAL CRYSTAL BALL AT MY DISPOSAL. Its probably best you stick to NBA2K
EliteBoston@EliteBostoni

Dam I forgot Corey is stupid and thinks it's easy to get a superstar. He thinks our two good assets will get us a amazing player easily lol. You really are stupid and forgot how long it took for us to get superstars and how hard it was. This fucking guy. Is this how you run your life? Just saying things and waiting and waiting until they're true lol. It's like other teams don't have great assets according to Corey. According to Corey superstars grow on trees. According to Corey the ownership is the second coming of Jesus and we should trust them. According to Corey Brad could do no wrong even though he inherited superstars and assets. According to Corey Brad could do no wrong even though the celtics have lost to quite a few underdogs including blowing managing the ego of the Kyrie teams. But I bet Corey doesn't want to be honest with himself because without the celtics, what does Corey have?

They’ve won 1 title in 9 years with the Jays. They won their title when Jaylen and Jayson accounted for 43% of the cap not 70% allowing them to build the championship team they built. They gave that team a chance to repeat and they didn’t They made moves to readjust their cap flexibility with Tatum missing majority of last season They still realized paying Jaylen and Jayson 70% of the cap with little ability to improve around them was not sustainable to winning. I don’t understand why you guys are struggling to grasp this part of Brads mindset
Pjhara@PJHaranas

@CoreyB08 the point is every team makes moves based on financial constraints, and every team has a very good shot to be bad or mediocre regardless. You don't cut a run short when they've never been out of contention or even missed the playoffs.
