UPDATE: For any citizens, or members of the press interested in the agreements and details that occurred during the meeting with The TVA and the Gregory Family yesterday, please refer to the notes below: @jeremymansfield @TVAnews TVA 109 North Transmission Line Project Meeting Recap and Key Agreements Date of Meeting: March 19, 2026 Location: Gregory Family Residence Attendees • David Bowling, Senior Vice President – Safety, Environment and Enterprise Support, TVA • John Rich, Citizen Advocate (Lawfare Task Force) • Jeremy Mansfield, Sumner County Commissioner • Frosty Gregory and the Gregory family The meeting was held at the request of the affected landowners. TVA President and CEO Don Moul delegated authority to Mr. Bowling for this discussion and for decisions regarding the 109 North project. Key Verbal Agreements Reached: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Route Elimination TVA will abandon plans for Tap Point 2 and the associated routes through segments 3 (red line) and 4 (green line). These options have been removed from further consideration. Preferred Routing TVA will utilize the existing easement at Tap Point 1 (the blue line on the map) and proceed with routing the line as close as possible to State Route 109. Segments 5, 6, and 7 will be re-evaluated and shifted toward SR 109 (on either side of the highway where feasible) during the engineering review. Additional Routing Options Engineering staff will evaluate crossing State Route 109 earlier (near the area of Tap Point 12) and utilizing land associated with the Nexus/Omega development where appropriate. Compensation Approach: TVA agrees that future easement and land acquisitions should be compensated at full market value plus a premium (discussed target of 125% of fair market value) rather than traditional low offers. This change will support faster project delivery and better landowner relations. Single Point of Contact Mr. Bowling committed to assigning one dedicated TVA representative as the primary point of contact for all future communications regarding this project. Early Landowner Engagement on Segments 5-6-7 Mr. Bowling committed that affected families along the revised route near State Route 109 would be contacted and engaged in person much earlier in the process, consistent with the new compensation approach discussed. The participants appreciated Mr. Bowling’s willingness to listen, his apology for past process gaps, and the commitments made. To keep momentum and ensure clarity, the participants respectfully request written confirmation of the route eliminations (Tap Point 2 / segments 3 & 4) and the updated routing direction down SR 109.
