I am deeply saddened to learn of a New Yorker's death in City custody following a court appearance in the Bronx. My heart is with his loved ones, who are facing this unimaginable loss. The Department of Correction and its oversight partners will investigate the circumstances of this death. Every person in City custody deserves to be treated with dignity and care, and our administration remains committed to ensuring that happens.

A 12-year-old was shot and killed in the Bronx earlier today. My heart breaks for his family, friends and all those who loved him. Their loss is unimaginable. I am praying for the speedy recovery of the other two victims of this shooting. I’m grateful for the hospital staff, and the NYPD for their work to find those responsible for this heinous act. Our children should be able to ride their bikes on a nice summer day in their neighborhood without fear of being shot. We cannot accept this violence as normal.

If an “influencer” wants to take a sponsored trip to another country, I have no problem with that. Want to promote how great the food is there or how beautiful a foreign city skyline is? Amazing. You do you. But if you take that same sponsored trip and then use your platform to push for America to send more arms or weapons to a foreign country or to remove tariffs on that nation, that shouldn’t be allowed.
