Retired RPD K9 Lucci was laid to rest on Wednesday. She was responsible for hundreds of arrests throughout her years of service. Like all great warriors, Lucci was gentle and loving to the peaceful but also ferocious and just when she had to be. Rest easy, Lucci. 💙

@davidbates @jonasrosland Absolutely agreed. AI is not going to replace people. AI will always need people to check its work over. As people train for “money” professions, that’s how they need to start thinking about it; “how can I correct the AI?”

@guyma @editingemily Unfortunately, though, I feel like AI is going to do a majority of the generative grunt work now. The AI makes it, and then someone more skilled comes along to check the work quality. My younger brother is an attorney, and I suspect this is going to be the future of law.

Love that @editingemily makes a great point at her keynote here at #AllThingsOpen about AI - AI isn’t coming for your job as a developer - evolving our skill sets to up level our strategic importance and reviewing/curating AI-generated code is critical.

Not dressed for corporate environments? Who cares. Long hair? Who cares. Thick beard? Who cares. Weird and socially inept? Who cares. The open source movement reminds me a lot my 80s punk days. Don’t like the music? Make your own. That’s why @AllThingsOpen rejuvenates me.

So, when people ask me why my sites are locked on finishing my workforce time with @redhat, that’s why. The company’s culture & values are driven by the open source spirit. For two days now at #AllThingsOpen I have felt like I’m home. I’m surrounded by other people like me.

For over a year now, I have been taking swing after swing to get a job with @RedHat. And I’ve had people ask me why? Why that company? To me, #redhat represents the spirit that has driven the open-source movement. Everyone matters. Everyone can do something. Everyone belongs.
