@paulwerner89@TomPelissero Correct strictly a business deal. He is not playing up to his contract. Either way it will cost Denver 35-40 mil per year to keep him whether its on the roster or not.
@TomPelissero That makes sense on paper, but there’s no realistic path back from this. Especially with one of the most sensitive players in the league.
Russell Wilson is due $39 million fully guaranteed in 2024.
Another $37M in 2025 is guaranteed for injury only until the 5th day of the 2024 league year in March, when it would fully vest.
Benching him now sets up the final decision on the Russell Wilson era in a couple months.
@TomPelissero Guess they want to avoid injury? But is there a chance he could be traded to say ... the Giants? They were interested last year. Similar contracts no?
@TomPelissero Do they risk losing a draft pick for intentionally not playing their highest paid player to save $$$?
That feels like the equivalent to tanking.
Even if they win out (which they had a realistic shot, & perhaps still do), I don’t see how they avoid punishment/losing a draft pick
@307KinderNation@MySportsUpdate trainer clearing a path to provide care to someone in need is a common practice. Pushing the trainer trying to get to the one is need is a lame move no matter how you see it. Get the hell out of the way.
@MichaelDavSmith He was showing signs of this the last two seasons in Seattle. This was coming.Everyone blamed his Oline, then Pete Carroll with all that just let Russ cook nonsense.Aside from the long pass from time to time he was regressing already
Is there any good reason Nathaniel Hackett should finish the season? The Broncos are surely going to fire him after the season, so why not give an interim head coach a few games to see if he can start the process of figuring out why Russell Wilson sucks and how he can be fixed?
@SpiroAgnewGhost I guess I just don't understand how the world can watch a super power such as Russia take over smaller countries. Force their will on them sit back and let it happen. Belarus joining Russia now in the war but yet NATO cannot. How fair is that?
