Comp update: Kirk Cousins will sign a five-year, $172 million deal with the Raiders that in reality is a one-year, fully-guaranteed $20 million deal that also contains a club option for two years at $80M. The Falcons will pay Cousins $8.7 million this season, the Raiders another $1.3 million and Las Vegas also agreed to pay its new QB a fully-guaranteed $10 million roster bonus on the third day of the 2027 new league year. And maybe most notably, it also sets another new mark: this will be the 11th straight NFL season in which Cousins’ contract will be fully guaranteed.

You'd think so, but nope! Going straight up will get you to space, but you'd fall right back down the moment you cut off your engines.
The way to get into "orbit" (which is how you stay in space and experience zero G without burning fuel) is by moving sideways fast enough that your sideways motion creates a ballistic arc that keeps your altitude above Earth. They're still in freefall, but moving so fast they "miss" the planet. From orbit, they can then burn the engines at the right time to break out of orbit and fall towards the moon once they get close enough, with precise heading that allows them to "miss" it and fall back down to the planet in what's known as a free return trajectory.
That's how this works in a nutshell, but orbital mechanics are tough to wrap your head around so I'd strongly suggest spending some more time reading about it!

This essentially means that the NFL can now schedule teams for two Thursday games coming off a Sunday game, and then put them on Black Friday or Christmas Day (on a Friday this year) on top of that.
We'll see how that put that flexibility to work in the schedule.

Owners voted through the proposal to treat Friday games like Saturday, Sunday or Monday games, and not Thursday games (meaning a Friday game wouldn't count towards a team's limit of two "short week" games), per sources. Very relevant this year because Christmas is on a Friday.

I have no bias here.
This is a tech 10/10 times. For multiple reasons… it would have lost the game for his team and he would have tried to fight the officials like he did nothing wrong. I just don’t understand it at all.
Also, referees need to grow a spine in instances like this.
