Last night our family had the opportunity to attend The Ability Center's Open Gym at Wilson Elementary in Wauwatosa, and it was an incredible experience. My kids had the chance to play basketball in sports wheelchairs, giving them a small glimpse into what many athletes experience every day. They had an absolute blast, but they also walked away with a greater appreciation for the challenges and opportunities that adaptive sports provide. As a physical therapist, I've seen firsthand how movement, sports, and recreation can transform confidence, independence, and quality of life. Every child deserves the opportunity to participate, regardless of physical ability. We also learned from Jordy and the team that sports wheelchairs can cost around $5,000, putting them out of reach for many families. Organizations like The Ability Center help bridge that gap and make these opportunities possible. It was also fun to learn that Jordy knows my brother-in-law, Carl, through Whitewater Wheelchair Basketball. Wisconsin has an amazing adaptive sports community, and we're grateful to everyone who volunteers their time to make it possible. Thank you to The Ability Center for a great evening!

The @WI_Elections must have a fair policy in place for people who voted for someone absentee who has dropped out of any race, including the governors race and give them the chance to submit a new ballot. Anything else is undemocratic with a small d.

@MikeRobertsWI But it’s not your home. It’s been made clear by multiple state senators, reps, and office-holders in Waukesha county that the needs of that area and Wauwatosa are not the same. Ultimately, if there’s a conflict, you’ll represent your neighbors over your customers.

Representative Vining keeps talking about “the other guy” in this race. Let me introduce myself. I’ve spent the last 15 years in healthcare right here in Wauwatosa. I built an award-winning physical therapy practice, created jobs in our community, and personally treated thousands of patients (including many covered by Medicaid). At no point have I advocated cutting Medicaid benefits for those who need them. How would I have even done that? I wasn’t a politician screaming talking points at people. I was treating Medicaid patients in the practice I started. My focus is on what patients actually care about: increasing access, lowering costs, and improving quality. And I would have been happy to talk to Rep. Vining about solutions if she ever reached out to me as a healthcare provider in her district. Wisconsin families deserve healthcare that works better, not political talking points. While others debate healthcare from the Capitol, I’ve spent my career delivering it. If you’re looking for a candidate with real healthcare experience and real solutions to improve cost, quality, and access, I would be honored to earn your vote for State Senate. PS – this is what people are tired of. Politicians just making stuff up about people they have never met. It’s old and ridiculous.

Wauwatosa has been a special part of my life for more than a decade. It’s where I built my healthcare practice, cared for thousands of patients, and formed friendships that continue to this day. One of my favorite summer traditions is coming to HartFest and catching up with lifelong friends, former patients, and neighbors who make this community such a great place to live and raise a family. Grateful for the opportunity to spend another beautiful Wisconsin evening with Lauren and the kids in a city that has given so much to our family!
