This is why a nation like China will continue to be close to the Top. Their Gaokao exam (University Entrance Examination) is the most difficult exam known in the world. Only about 55% of an average 9.5 million applicants every year ever passes it. And this is where it gets funnier. Some of these students that had failed Gaokao exams try SAT exams, passes and get into Ivy Leagues and top Universities in the West. It shows how China raises the standard of their education so high. Mediocrity can never even breathe there.
Uncle Ruckus@Emarged

For a society to be great, mediocrity must never be rewarded.

Years ago after my movie let there be light was released, Netflix called me into their studios in Los Angeles to have a meeting. I distinctly remember sitting down with the executives and discussing the possibility of having my faith-based movies on their platform. I’ll never forget the last thing they said to me before the meeting ended. “We understand that there’s an audience for this kind of content, but we don’t understand why.” These people do not have your best interest at heart.

They have sacked the most incompetent Minister of Finance Wale Edun. This guy didn't get a single scrutiny from the media despite his staggering incompetence.

In 1928, George Orwell went to Paris because he wanted to see what it was like to be poor. He rented a cheap room, ran out of money faster than expected, and ended up washing dishes in hotel kitchens for twelve to fourteen hours a day. The work was brutal in a boring way. Hot steam, greasy plates, shouting chefs, no breaks. You stood until your legs stopped working. When the shift ended, there was just enough time to eat badly and sleep before doing it again. When he got sick, no one helped much. You missed a shift, you lost the job. Later, in England, he lived among tramps and slept in shelters because he had nowhere else to go. He kept notes the whole time… He turned the experience into Down and Out in Paris and London. The book shows what happens when life becomes logistical and dignity turns into something you can’t afford. That period stayed with him. Long after he became famous, his writing never forgot how fragile comfort is, or how fast a person can slide from being someone to being invisible.

More Christians are killed for their faith in Nigeria than anywhere else in the world. Nigerian officials have, unfortunately, been complicit in facilitating these atrocities.

Today, NEPA came to cut my wire and they noticed that I have installed solar. Previously whenever they come to do this, I usually plead with them that work and other commitments made it impossible for me to come make payments. But the actual reason was because the bill is outrageously high and we barely had light. Most times they eventually drop my wire despite my pleading. But today, the moment they saw my solar, they started pleading with me to pay. I was the one asking them to drop the wire because I don't need it anymore. Come and see the way NEPA was begging me 😂

@SpinCook @cchukudebelu You are the disgrace here, why won't they be sanctioned? Did they keep to their own part of the bargain of the deal? And it took a Muslim president to grant them such leverage. We all know that Obama was so lenient and soft to extremists that why this discussion.

One thing you quickly learn, is that the Islamic Republic of Iran's elite prioritises the survival of the Islamic Republic - even over their own survival. Their posture is like, "you can kill all of us, no problem, but as long as the regime survives, we are fine". This must be baffling to both American and Israeli policy makers.

@AgbaMan14872 @cchukudebelu The JCPOA agreement despite being too weak on the American side because of Obama's complicity, did Iran keep to their own part of the bargain?

@Biidii_oi @cchukudebelu It was their money anyway. Don't make it seem like they were gifted anything. It was part of the JCPOA, which they complied with. Also, US/Israel attacked them first anyway.

What’s annoying them is that they never expected Kwankwaso to agree to be Peter Obi’s running mate. They didn’t believe Obi had that kind of reach in the North.
