One belief that many conservatives have unfortunately left by the wayside is that the government is bad at everything and you should be eternally skeptical of what they tell you they did correctly.

I supported as one of the two Jewish lay chaplains in San Diego. The chiefs on deployments tried to make sure I had food I could eat. I haven’t forget those decencies.

To even entertain the idea that Japan & South Korea would agree on any trade deal with China behind US’ back in times when the Indo-Pacific is literally on fire amid the worst tensions around Taiwan, SCS and probably with North Korea too, means only a certain level of naivety.

Do you like norms? Do you like small-l liberalism, where each side in the political life abides by a certain set of rules instead of having an endless cycle of violence? It turns out those things require a country with strong cultural unity and high levels of social trust and which socioeconomically is dominated by a mercantile educated middle class. It's because there's a sense of national, cultural and socioeconomic solidarity that is more important than politics that people agree to "play fair." Turns out over the past 40 years the left and the uniparty destroyed every single element of this setup: - Destroyed the economic base of the middle class through offshoring, financialization, and crony capitalism - Destroyed cultural unity and high trust through mass third world migration, identitarian balkanization, and self-hate cultural propaganda So now you get third world politics. Sorry, it's just the way it is.
