They leave with $200K + more than their peers did 5+ years ago - along with real world business experiences at an early age (negotiating, money management, taxes, entrepreneurship, marketing) - as an employer of many ex athletes, the ‘second job’ (NIL) you refer to negatively is actually the thing that makes them more valuable AND likely gives them the financial freedom to chase their passion vs. settling into medical device sales (your example).

The transfer portal has screwed up college sports. My bill is simple: you get 5 consecutive years to play 5 seasons and you get 1 transfer. After that, if you transfer again, you sit out a year. This will fix 80% of the issues in NIL today.

MIT professor accidentally leaked his NotebookLM grading system during a Zoom call. Dude forgot to turn off screen share and we watched him grade 47 essays in 12 minutes. Here's what he was doing that blew my mind. He uploaded all student papers plus his original rubric into NotebookLM. Then asked it to "evaluate each paper against these specific criteria and flag any that deviate from expected patterns." But the crazy part was his follow-up prompt. "Now cross-reference writing styles with previous submissions and highlight potential academic integrity concerns." The AI caught three cases of weird style shifts he would've missed on his own. Final step killed me. He asked NotebookLM to "generate personalized feedback that connects each student's weak points to specific course materials they should review." What took him 6 hours before now happens in 15 minutes. And students get better feedback than his handwritten comments ever provided. The man turned grading from torture into actual teaching.

With only a few days to prepare, we brought together a strong lineup of national champion Indiana Hoosiers fresh off their win over Miami, along with incoming transfer QB Josh Hoover to the campus CVS in Bloomington, IN. As usual, our team scaled quickly, attracting nearly 500 IU fans who showed up on a cold Saturday morning with fantastic energy from start to finish. Special thanks to the players for putting in some overtime and making it an incredible experience for the fans.
