@MaryTilesTexas You obviously don’t know what space is. 99 percent of earths gravity still applies on the ISS. It really isn’t in orbit around the earth gravity is so strong that the ISS is continuously falling.

I spoke to someone retired from HMRC.. they explained that there's a certain number of sick days you can take before HR get involved, and that everyone treated it as a kind of second holiday allowance. Just to give you a flavour of the culture.

I love engineers who think of the minutest of the details. This is functional and aesthetic. A well balanced design. Don’t come commenting “but what about the cost to manufacture this”. It’s not always about that.

@seanrigbybrown @engineers_feed Most surfaces aren’t completely clean, they’ll have a coating or oxide layer. In spacecraft mechanism design it’s also common to use different materials if they touch.

Pieces of the same metal become permanently stuck together if they touch in space.
