Because 12 hour long bickerfests are just a way for timid chickens to "hide behind the mic". The timeline provides easily referenced text anybody can immediately see, check, and respond to. As an example, no flerf has ever explained how the sun sets (see attachment for an unfalsifiable description of the sunset). flerfs like to say "We explained it! Just go listen to this 12 hour long discussion". That's just silly — no flerf has ever described how the Sun can 'appear' to approach and set below the horizon.
