@Bendre @mattbarcomb My thought is that leadership is intentional. You can inspire others through your actions and behaviour. That doesn't feel like leadership though. A good outcome is more important than the word you use though. People get caught up on words.

Many see required changes around themselves. Some look at themselves to see what change is required.

A good developer finds a way to solve a hard problem. A great developer simplifies the problem to make it easy. #refactor

@lissijean Now I want to make a Canadian ChatBot that apologizes, talks about the weather and says Eh? a lot.

You can totally tell ChatGPT was programmed by Americans by all the adjectives and excitement in the text it generates. No Europeans are this excited when they write or speak.

If you are trying to refactor your spaghetti code to a layered architecture, an intermediate step would be lasagna code with layers of spaghetti. Sounds and looks delicious. Can you see the for loops in the top layer? What other patterns do you see? Working on my Embedded Online Conference talk on SOLID design for Embedded C.

@jwgrenning Lol. James, that's an amazing photo! What a great metaphor for a typical code base.

@lissijean We need to turf this time change twice a year. What an embarrassment as a society.

@mattbarcomb @tottinge Not a fan of dedicated refactoring. Refactoring is about small changes, removing barriers in our way, moving the code towards a simpler design, increasing our understanding. No matter the state we're in, let's just make it a bit better. It can be hard but it can be done.

@lissijean I just noticed that's a sit / stand desk in the middle. Very nice. Love that green.
