@LimeVariant @MaggieOliverUK @TMOFCharity Totally wrong - the wrecking amendment was designed to bring down the Wellb eing and Safeguarding Bill...... if the amendment passed the Bill failed and all the protections it brings BUT if the Bill falls so does the amendment - was just a political con by the Tories

This is the first time “Amelia” has told her story to the media, and because of legal “edits” it honestly is just the tip of this iceberg. We @TMOFCharity have been supporting Amelia in her fight for justice for 4 years…. The fight continues and Amelia will not give up until the full truth is heard…. I was taken to Parliament thesun.co.uk/news/38697228/…

You are aware that oil and gas together still account for 73–75% of the UK's total primary energy consumption (which covers all energy needs across electricity, heating, transport, industry and other sectors, measured in primary energy terms)? So explain to me exactly how ‘you will make it happen’ that we don’t use fossil fuels.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed King Charles will not issue an Easter message this year. If this is True then I’m sorry I’ve lost all faith and hope for the Monarchy!

Back in 2013, @Ed_Miliband proposed an energy price cap. David Cameron called it “Marxist.” Today it kicks in, cutting £117 a year from bills, perfect timing given the conflict in Iran. Turns out someone was right all along. Cheers, Ed. ⚡

From today, energy bills will come down. Labour took the decision to bring down bills by asking the wealthiest to pay a little more. That’s the fair thing to do. We know there’s more to do to tackle the cost of living but this is an important step.

🚨 Holding the BBC to account: Green Party activists and candidates made horrific comments, calling Jewish people “abominations”. God forbid had this been Reform activists it would have led the news cycle behind only the war in Iran. Yet because it’s the Greens? The BBC did not even cover it.

Isn't this strange... Labour Together deleted this post from X showing an LT event at 2023 Labour conference, addressed by Peter Mandelson, @jreynoldsMP and hosted by Josh Simons. This screengrab was taken two weeks ago, so only deleted since then. Would be a shame if it was shared, widely, so it never disappears.

Caroline Lucas, "There isn't enough oil and gas in the North Sea to bring prices down. If extracted, it's sold to highest bigger. So prices don't drop" When we know what the problem is, when we have actual technological green solutions, and still there isn't the drive and energy to take the better path How many fossil fuel crises do we need before our government superchargers a green energy revolution?

@Steven_Swinford It's a red herring. McSweeney's Whatsapp messages didn't disappear with the phone: they sit on the server and were available to him as soon as he logged into Whatsapp with his new phone. Was McSweeney also dodging FOIA obligations - a criminal offence? x.com/AVMikhailova/s…
Anna Mikhailova@AVMikhailova

Oh look - here are the rules on using WhatsApp that senior officials are required to follow: - They should forward on messages onto government systems, simple screenshots will do - they can ask civil servants to help them do this

BREAKING   Scotland Yard has confirmed that Morgan McSweeney reported the theft of his phone to them on October 20 last year   They took down ***the wrong address*** and assumed the offence had taken place in East London rather than Westminster   As a result they could not identify a suspect and the case was closed   The Times has been told officers were 'too busy' to speak to Morgan McSweeney directly about it   Having established the error following the report by The Sun on Sunday they have amended the report   Worth bearing in mind that this was the theft of the phone with the prime minister's number, the number of every cabinet minister, sensitive WhatsApps, messages, emails… you name it. This was NOT an ordinary phone Starmer: “On Monday, 20 October police received a report from a man in his 40s alleging that his phone had been snatched.   “The incident was recorded as having taken place in Belgrave Street, E1.   “A review of the allegation, including a consideration of whether there was available CCTV, did not identify any realistic lines of enquiry. The investigation was subsequently closed.   “In the course of responding to a recent media enquiry, we became aware that the address was entered incorrectly at the time of the initial call and should instead have been recorded as Belgrave Road, Pimlico.   “Having identified this error, the report will be amended and the assessment of whether there is available evidence revisited."

Exclusive: Police did not investigate the theft of Morgan McSweeney’s phone because officers were “too busy”, despite the sensitivity of his messages and contacts Sir Keir Starmer’s former chief of staff told the Metropolitan police that his phone was stolen as he returned home from a restaurant in central London on October 20 last year The theft of the work device means that McSweeney’s WhatsApp messages and texts to Lord Mandelson, the former ambassador to the US, cannot be retrieved. It has led critics to question whether the phone was stolen The State of It, the political podcast from The Times and The Sunday Times, can disclose that McSweeney told police the phone was taken by a man wearing a balaclava on an electric bike. The man grabbed it out of his hand as McSweeney was responding to text messages and cycled off. McSweeney gave chase but was unable to keep up Scotland Yard has a record of the incident but did not carry out any formal investigation. Officers did not speak to McSweeney directly because they were too busy. He was given a crime reference number and the case was closed McSweeney reported the theft of his phone to No 10 and the device was shut off remotely. He was given a new device with the same number the next day. The theft of the phone was first reported by The Sun on Sunday thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

@Steven_Swinford The phone got knicked but all the info on it would be instantly downloaded to the new one when it was set up surely. That's what happens when mere plebs like me change phone. A government minister must have excellent backup and retrieval at his disposal

Just add 8% to current UK GDP to make up the Brexit ‘shortfall’, then compare our GDP growth to other major European and G7 economies — and it quickly becomes apparent it’s anything but credible!!
Noel Dowling@noelmarydowling

@afneil A credible academic paper in 2025 estimated that Brexit reduced the level of UK GDP by around 6–8%. Not an absolute fall in GDP, but a cumulative, gradual shortfall in economic growth compared to what it would have been if the UK had remained in the EU.

@afneil I find it shocking the UK government could ever support a project that diminished the economy at all. The precise % is an irrelevance. As soon as you accept it’s smaller at all it becomes clear it’s a failure.
