As a New Yorker it's pretty frustrating to see NYC becoming less and less relatively relevant as all our national growth occurs in Sunbelt metros, but what's really blackpilling is our elected officials don't even seem to realize there's a problem.

@andrewbstern We are doing it now. The Gowanus Canal & Newtown Creek are Superfund sites. Coney Island Creek also needs a cleaning. But also realize that NY's waterways are connected to the rivers and oceans that surround them. Much different than the Seine. Will take much longer to fix.

There is no reason why NYC can’t do the same.
It would cost a few billion to stop sewage runoffs (CSOs). But being able to swim in the rivers would be transformative for the ~3 million NYers who live within a half mile of the waterfront.

Most kids have a father figure around, whether or not the parents are married, that will show them the game. I'm one of them. Parents were never married, but my Dad was around & he took me to games.
