@artofallan @tobieee These weapon skins made my eyes bug out of my head like a cartoon wolf when I saw them. Achieving the at-a-glance retro look that still adheres to the overarching futuristic aesthetic of Marathon is such an accomplishment, I always hit 7 to look at my guns that have these on =)

@asterokosmosvt I'm level 50ish with low skill; I think PVP is so punishing because it's always up for grabs. Almost every time I die to a player I can see where I tensed up and failed to think strategically in the moment. Good to jump back in and treat death like practice lessons!

Seriously, I can get mad at this game, but I've put 200 hours into it in the last 3 weeks. THREE WEEKS. 200 HOURS. I love this game, I'm addicted and obsessed. I know I love playing it and I know I love the community that gives me such a good time playing it. Re-installing now.

The first time I entered pinwheel base the relative neatness really communicated that sense of a high tier risk/reward tier environment

Season 4 needs to be the “Forsaken” of Marathon. - Arena Mode (FFA, TDM, S&D, 3v3, 6v6) - Firing Range - Social Hub - Marathon Ship Map - Ranked Rework (New scoring system to incentivize fighting, Top 500, loot incentives to keep replaying and hold your rank) - Clan system - Full rework of weapon balancing

Okay I've spent almost 100 hours in Marathon the past two weeks, anybody that says Marathon isn't one of the coolest games to come out this year is lying to you. At base, yeah, sure, it's your average extraction shooter. THE FUCKING LORE IS SO COOL. THE MAPS ARE INCREDIBLE.

@TheNovaPlayss I think PVE mode will be a huge shift for the game, and this season will probably unfortunately be a low point on delivery for them because I imagine a ton of bandwidth is going to just absorbing the impact of layoffs on the roadmap and process. S3 I have high hopes for though

@personalhimbo Yeah I have to assume the back half of June and first part of July is just about putting head back on, picking up the pieces, MASSIVE roadmap cuts and delays and process changes and new issues around roles impacted, especially qa. I believe in them though 😭

bungie just went through the most devastating third round of layoffs. i'm not surprised that marathon balance updates probably aren't coming till mid-season to maximize the amount of good comms in 2 weeks.

@socialimmedia Actually think the zoned areas of Baldur's Gate 3 and the way they gradually reveal the ultimate danger manages it pretty well. It feels like holding some info back about the final big bad in the first act has multiple advantages.

Tried playing Witcher 3 and man that game is straight garbo. Probably some interesting writing in there somewhere, but I can’t be bothered with hours of the mind-numbing combat system or holding the Witchey Sense button to Find Clues.
