This is a very welcome surprise. If the Church of England is to have a supreme governor then it goes without saying that it should be a believing member of it. This doesn’t directly affect Catholics, of course, but all British Christians should breathe a sigh of relief that our future head of state will be a professed Christian.

He’s sought to make not just his family, institution or country but the world better, safer and more positive than what it is now if only in hopes that his efforts bear fruit for future generations of all stripes. What could be more Christian than such a quiet but noble faith. /6
