There’s a lot wrong with this thread. DC obviously has a strong leftward political lean - but the 92-5 stat is misleading (1/3 of eligible jurors don’t vote), a huge proportion of DC residents are transplants (not products of DC schools), jurors overwhelmingly return convictions regardless of the alleged crime, and judges undertook intensive voir dire process to screen for bias in the most sensitive cases. That’s why the DC Circuit (including two Trump appointees) ruled the way it did.

DC voted 92.1% for Biden in 2020. 5.4% for Trump. The DC Circuit ruled in 2024 (US v. Webster) that this political composition does not make DC juries unfair. That case effectively foreclosed ALL venue challenges for Jan 6 and politically sensitive federal cases.

So the reason I say this - if it wasn't already clear - is that when this current term comes to a close, it will be the most unpopular administration in the history of the US, and all of the wolves will be howling at the door. The Left will be looking for revenge, and the Right, being full to the brim with treacherous and mercenary cowards, will be looking for convenient scapegoats to save their own hides.
Accepting a job under this current government *right now* is tantamount to joining yourself at the hip to its failures and none of its successes. It is a one-way ticket onto a government blacklist or to federal prison.
There will be no immunity, no pardons, no serious attempt to defend anybody except for Trump's innermost circle and various crooks and fraudsters who have engaged in pay-to-play with him. The little people are at best an afterthought. It was like this in the first term, and there is nothing to indicate that it will be seriously different this time around, other than there won't be a third term to save you in the end.
I think there might be a good argument for getting into government at local and state levels, but not here. This is an obvious trap.
