Why is everyone pushing this narrative that #bitcoin is congested or broken? #Bitcoin is working as intended. It has a priority fee structure. If you want your transaction to go through faster, bump your fee. Facts matter, it’s better to educate accurately than mislead people…

@petehodl Right but talk to me about the interest rates. If someone took a large loan like the one you suggested, how much does the interest rate go up from where it is now? How much capital borrowed pushes the interest rate to say 5%?

This is how safe borrowing is 👇 I’m sitting at: • 50% health factor • Liquidation only at 0% • BTC would need to drop ~50% for me to get wiped Let that sink in. With $100,000 in collateral, you could borrow ~$36,000 at just 0.835% APY Show more...

@petehodl Is there even liquid in that pool to take a loan like that without increasing the interest significantly?

That’s a huge safety buffer! Not “hovering near liquidation” Not “monitoring the situation every second” You’ve got real room to breathe. Still, risk isn’t gone. You control it. But this is what flexible, transparent leverage should feel like.

@BobbyShakesX @Parasite_wtf Regardless, you said parasite fixes this. It does not. You’re paid out accordingly to your contributed hash regardless of the pool you use. It’s best to be honest about these things. You may not mean to mislead, but that statement you made is.

@BobbyShakesX @Parasite_wtf Right, If he hit the block himself he would get 3.125 bitcoin rather than 1 btc so I mean if we’re just talking about hitting a block and no other factors, you’re knee capping yourself and losing 2.125 bitcoin mining with parasite…

@bweys_nft I don’t agree there. He was under 1 mNAV for quite some time last bear and he didn’t flinch nor did people uproar. I think what you’re saying is a bit hyperbolic.

They’ll keep him at .6 mnav for even 6 weeks & market will be in uproar & he’ll sell btc bc he’s got a duty to shareholders, legally, not to Bitcoin & that’s only the very beginning of it I do believe all of the MSTR Bitcoins end up in other hands tbh. Just don’t know how exactly 🤝

It would ofc be wonderful if people deployed capital directly into self-storage BTC instead of an indirect instrument paying 11.5% interest This could end in variety of ways as it is going now Only time will tell, a year or two from now

@bweys_nft Yeah I think the <1 mNAV thing is more legal than anything. They were pretty much sitting at 1 and still raised a boat load more money to buy. I don’t see him selling anytime soon but it’s possible for sure. Still unsure about the income thing as well but yeah anything can happen

Just that he recently (few months ago) stated he’s willing to sell btc to support share price if mnav <1 That’s the easiest thing that’ll get tested. No universe exists where this won’t be put to the test by the market bc doesn’t take much capital to test it Bigger tests would be around MSTR capital structure which would require 3-4 year bear market perhaps (probs less than that). Where wouldn’t be able to raise more capital & btc cagr would be negative or negligible for 5 year type period & no confidence to be found anywhere. Also not unusual at all

@bweys_nft I’m not sure what you mean considering Saylor has sold zero bitcoin to date… and he has shown that he doesn’t need income to cover interest. He has over two years of runway in cash reserves from raised money. Not trying to intentionally argue. Just trying to understand

@BitcoinBugsy This story ends at some point if can’t cover interest with income Just is what it is It’ll be put to the test in some way & Saylor already opened door to selling btc too. That’ll be tested at the minimum & probs worse Les see. Could take fair few years. Doubt it’s imminent ye!

@blankabtc You forgot the part where you need an external indexer. It’s not just bitcoin, it’s an arbitrary lens everyone in the ecosystem agrees to. Like the rules of chess. Bitcoin on its own does not order sats. To bitcoin, all sats are equal, and no data is “attached” to any of them

most people still don't understand how ordinals work. quick breakdown: - every sat is numbered in order of mining - inscriptions attach data directly to a sat - that sat moves on-chain like any other UTXO - you own the sat. you own the inscription. no middleman. no wrapper. just bitcoin.

I always chuckle when BIP-110'ers send their ire my way, as if I'm a relevant economic actor or something. Me, Wicked, and MrHodl...we're nobodies in this war. If you actually understood how bitcoin works, you would be focusing all of your energy on Foundry, MARA, Coinbase, etc.

My manager gave me three options: do nothing and let the resentment from working too hard for too little pay build up even more, document all the reasons I deserve a raise and wait a few months for our director to approve or deny it, or resign. I chose to resign.

Wicked@w_s_bitcoin

Tomorrow I’m asking for a 20% raise. Since I was already planning to quit on Friday, I figured I might as well swing for the fences first. If they give it to me, that’ll be enough to keep me motivated in the short term…if not, I walk as planned.

I need some advice! How do I convince a close family member who understands bitcoin (to a degree) that bitcoin is greater than real estate. They are sitting on some major cash and considering getting into real estate. Age: Early 60’s
