Nearly three million Britons petition against your policies. Your regulator is a toothless international laughing stock. Private companies fight for our rights to privacy while you, the government, attack them. Your Ministers get community noted for inaccuracy. The founder of Wikipedia himself is fighting for us harder than you are. When do you look in the mirror, @UKLabour and @darrenpjones, and change course? Better be before 2029...

I am a happy customer of Mullvad (there are other good VPN companies too but Mullvad is top notch). I use it to keep my family safe. The very idea that the UK government is harassing the good guys and demonizing internet security is mad. UK Labour party? I'm looking at you. You know me. You know how to talk to me. Get real about Internet policy.

As geopolitical tensions rise, capital rotates through dollars and gold and increasingly into Bitcoin as confidence in fiat weakens and demand for non-sovereign stores of value grows. That’s when you realise you need assets that sit outside direct government control. As @Jasmine from @MoneyMagpie told me on @RoxomTV: “People aren’t so sure about dollars, but gold and Bitcoin, yes definitely… people are flying to it for safety.” Short term price action comes and goes, but the underlying demand for hard assets persists and the fundamentals remain intact.

The @JointCtteNSS seems incapable of understanding the radical transparency of the Bitcoin system, ignoring the data showing that less than 0.2% of cryptocurrency transactions made annually are illicit. I encourage you to educate them in the replies! I highly doubt that anyone advising the committee has bothered to go through the Reform donation flow and realized that amounts and addresses are all public, or that law enforcement is now highly capable at tracking cryptocurrency transactions. Evidence in thread, which I suspect they will not read, as evidence is anathema to these people 👇
Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy@JointCtteNSS

Cryptocurrency donations pose an unnecessary and unacceptably high risk to the integrity of UK political finance. We also need tighter rules on overseas donors; a new national police unit to oversee political finance; and tougher criminal liability. 🧵 1/2

@JointCtteNSS I'm sorry but this is completely unsupported by the facts. Please review this article on the radical transparency of the Bitcoin system and the ease with which law enforcement can trace source of funds: x.com/bitcoinpolicyu…

For all the talk of volatility, bitcoin is behaving like a macro hedge. Bloomberg calling it an “oasis of calm” during a geopolitical shock reflects a shift in how bitcoin is being perceived. While stablecoins deepen their Washington ties and get pitched as lifelines, they can still be seized, censored, or stopped. Bitcoin stands apart as neutral, permissionless money. Unless you are Boris Johnson and still think it is a Ponzi scheme! 🤦‍♀️ Full article: bloomberg.com/news/articles/… @Suvajourno

The UK government is pushing digital ID again despite nearly 3 million people opposing it and a four hour parliamentary debate that raised overwhelming cross party concern about this dystopian technology. Linking identity to payments creates the infrastructure for unprecedented financial surveillance and control. Watch this clip where Freddie warns: “If the government decides to suspend your digital ID and that becomes the gateway to services and payments, you are effectively unpersoned.” Please take a few minutes to submit a response. Consultation: gov.uk/government/con… Full document: gov.uk/government/con… Closes at 12:30pm on 5 May 2026. @FreddieNew @BitcoinPolicyUK @BigBrotherWatch @NO2ID @KemiBadenoch @DarrenPJones

The UK government says Digital ID will be about convenience. But convenience can hide something much bigger. In our consultation response, @freddienew, Chief Policy Officer at Bitcoin Policy UK, warns the proposed system could become: “one of the most significant expansions of state surveillance infrastructure in modern British history.” A system linking:
 • biometric data • identity verification
 • employment checks
 • public services raises serious questions about privacy, security and civil liberties. Before asking how to build digital ID, policymakers should ask a more fundamental question: Should it be built at all? Read the full analysis here: bitcoinpolicy.uk/blog-1/f/digit… @DecentraSuze

I completed my response to this new Digital ID consultation last night, but was so angry (after watching @darrenpjones try to sell the policy) that I had to go further. Full response from @bitcoinpolicyuk also drafted and sent in. Conclusion? "The UK’s lack of a national identity system is far from a failure of modernisation, but should properly be thought of as a deeply rooted constitutional inheritance that reflects a fundamental principle: that the state serves the citizen, not the other way around. The Prime Minister spoke early on in his premiership about ‘treading more lightly on all our lives’. Digital ID is in fact more akin to the boot at the conclusion of Orwell’s ‘1984’, stamping on a human face, forever." h/t to @BigBrotherWatch as ever.

Nearly three million of us already gave a consultation response to Digital IDs. We said 'NO'. Now they're trying again. And so must we. Link to the consultation below, and how to respond. You know what to do!

Cuba’s recent blackout exposed a structural weakness in centralized power grids. When a single plant fails, entire systems can collapse. Distributed energy and flexible demand could help change that. Bitcoin mining plays an unexpected role by acting as a flexible load that stabilizes renewable grids. The same decentralised logic strengthens money and disperses power too. Blantyre, Malawi is where my Bitcoin journey really began, although I had no idea at the time. Growing up, I lived in a quintessential English village and apart from a few holidays, that was largely the extent of my view of the world. When I arrived in Blantyre in 1994, I was struck by the contrast between officials arriving in flashy cars at government buildings while outside, people were struggling and suffering. It was the first time I saw clearly how governments could enrich themselves while failing to look after their own people. That trip stayed with me and gradually shaped how I think about power, money and the state. More than thirty years later, learning that @AfroBitcoinOrg will take place in Blantyre this year feels remarkable. It brings everything back to where my Bitcoin journey began and to the moment I first saw the problem Bitcoin ultimately addresses... the need to separate money from the state. #ABC2026 #BitcoinMalawi #BitcoinAfrica @gemgemcrypto_io @RoxomTV

The response to the #ABC26 announcement has been overwhelming. Africa’s Bitcoin movement is growing stronger every year, and the energy from the community reminds us why this work matters. Now it’s time for Southern Africa. Blantyre, Malawi 🇲🇼 let’s make history. #Bitcoin #ABC26 #Africa

Antidote is building the home for Bitcoin entrepreneurs in London and the UK. This week our partner Antidote hosted the latest Women of Bitcoin Meetup, bringing together the Bitcoin community and a live Mining panel as part of its Virtual Summit. The panel was chaired by our CEO, Susie Violet Ward, who moderated a discussion with industry experts. Launched in 2025 with £2.5M in backing, Antidote is London’s first startup hub dedicated entirely to Bitcoin founders, providing workspace, mentorship and investor access to help early stage companies grow. Their first accelerator cohort was also announced this week, with startups working across privacy, AI and payments built on Bitcoin. Antidote shows how the UK ecosystem is growing: more founders, more collaboration, and more opportunities to build.
