What is Bitmap City Vol. 2?
TLDR:
My love letter to this space: A pioneering DMT Fine Art collection built on photography and blends imagery, bitmap blocks, Pantone color sets, and web3 slang into each piece of art.

Bitmap City Vol. 2 is an exploration of spaces: digital + physical, seeking to combine the highest form of human art—Fine Art—with the most advanced technology—Digital Matter Theory.

🟧History🟧
The idea for the DMT collection was conceived when I watched @TheBlockRunner’s Nov. 20, 2023 episode on DMT. Having successfully launched Bitmap City Vol. 1, I knew Vol. 2 needed to push things a step further and utilize DMT.
🟧Building🟧
✈️Low-altitude flights were booked on a prop plane to capture different topography—mainly looking for rural farmland, suburbs, and small cities.
🏙️Tickets to skyscrapers in NYC and London were secured to capture big cities from within their hearts.
🌆Thousands of Bitmaps were scoured and tested to see which would pair the best with the imagery.
🎨Countless hours were dedicated to painting and compiling the base imagery in photoshop.
📃A system for stacking complimentary layers was thought through and created.
🟧Art structure🟧
Each work of art is comprised of anywhere from one to three layers: bottom, middle, and top. With the help of the Merkle root as a randomizer, the layers are stacked on top of one another.

Bitmap City Vol. 2 seeks to merge physical and digital worlds into a shard in-between space.
🟧Why DMT🟧
I needed to achieve the pristine quality of non-arbitrary data to represent the Digital space perfectly—something only available with Digital Matter Theory.
🟧Coding🟧
I joined with the @scarcedotcity team to help create the custom code from scratch—and we eventually chose the Merkle root to introduce maximum randomness into the collection.
