Those leviathans in the OG game also had 4000-8000 health points and where not meant to die but people found ways to do so.
At the end of the day, the game is not hard to play by just, existing with the creatures.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO SUBNAUTICA 2.. > be Subnautica 2 developers > player politely asks why you can’t kill most creatures > level designer snaps back: "This is not a killing game, go play Sons of the Forest if you want violence" > another dev adds that big creatures will stay safe because "the game should feel right" The first Subnautica let you stab leviathans with a knife. Now they want you to peacefully coexist with 50-meter monsters like it’s a underwater yoga class. Why do developers treat their most loyal fans like this? Why can’t they just answer normally without being condescending and aggressive? Loyal players are the ones who supported you for years. If you keep talking down to them, they’ll simply stop playing. And in the end, you - the developers - will be the ones who lose the most. Peak "go touch grass" energy in 2026. You think this approach will help the game long-term or are we watching it slowly die?

God forbid people experience actual gameplay. Your vulnerability and the threats in these games *is* the gameplay. If you are handed a tool that neutralizes that... you reduce this game into cheap dopamine hits.... but honestly that's what a lot of games want these days.

Don’t Nod are an amazing company and I love their games. I went into this hoping for a good experience and honestly… I did not enjoy it.
The story at first is very intriguing and I was genuinely interested to see where it was going but the janky gameplay and long drawn out sequences ruined any excitement for me.
It started to feel like a chore to the point where I desperately wanted to finish this game.
The voice acting was okay at some points but most of the time it was painful.
The visuals are probably the highlight of this game. You come across some beautiful vistas but it isn’t enough to make up for the lack of everything else.

@The__Goomba I sat through the whole game (on youtube), it had a few moments that were cool, but giving it a 10 is a joke. Yes people can have their own opinions, but there’s just no world where this is a 10/10 game.
I’m convinced the majority of this game’s praise has been astroturfed
