Had to mute my subnautica related post. My next notification better be about actual gameplay.
Working on the 4b true boss.

@blinky4thewin I believe that's the devs suggestion. It's fine, not every game has to be for every person.
English

God forbid people experience actual gameplay. Your vulnerability and the threats in these games *is* the gameplay. If you are handed a tool that neutralizes that... you reduce this game into cheap dopamine hits.... but honestly that's what a lot of games want these days.
PC Gamer@pcgamer
Subnautica 2 devs have heard your 'strong request' for combat, but it's not going to happen pcgamer.com/games/survival…
English

@blinky4thewin Idk man - maybe just let the devs cook.
Sn1 was primarily not about combat... stated mission of the game.
It stands to reason that maybe the devs want to evolve and continue down that path - it's not going to just be like the first one. It's going to be different... maybe better
English

@stellarfury The original game had a knife that you could stab fish with. Nobody wants an underwater M-16. We would just like a knife, like in the first game.
English

@FloorPotato @AHumanoidDroid2 @ColorTheBooks When I first saw this - I thought it was the run of the mill "hey this isn't exactly like the other ones!" complaints... I didn't know that the complaints were even dumber than this.
English

@AHumanoidDroid2 @stellarfury @ColorTheBooks Political??? Conserving nature and respecting the natural cycle of thing when you're the uninvited guest isn't some profound agenda?? Tons of games and show have the same message. Can you not being paranoia about hidden message and political brainrotted for one second?
English

@ColorTheBooks @AHumanoidDroid2 People get upset when devs say "go play some other game" when players complain that don't like something.
You could see it could be an honest referral to something that might be more the players cup of tea.
English

@AHumanoidDroid2 @stellarfury New game, new mechanics. Why you so mad, man? Just get the mod if you're so hell bent on playing easy mode.
English

@AHumanoidDroid2 @ColorTheBooks Is it though? Could it not be for gameplay reasons? I see this rhetoric repeated - but is this actually true? I'm not even saying it's not - I don't know... but my reaction to the devs not backing down is that they have a gameplay principle... not a political principle in mind.
English

@stellarfury @ColorTheBooks That 'design principle' only extended in the first game to omitting personal firearms. We had torpedoes and electric point defense systems later in the game, among many other things.
They made a MASSIVE change in 2, for political reasons, and they're rightfully getting pushback.
English

@AHumanoidDroid2 @ColorTheBooks First game has flaws as the first in most things do. What I am saying I hope the developers continue to stick to their design principles and make an interesting and unique experience vs just catering to the masses that want it to be just like "all the other ones"
English

@ColorTheBooks @stellarfury The first game HAD killing mechanics, and it was incredible.
You tourists need to STFU.
English

@ZetaDragonRoar Perhaps you are drinking a cup of tea and complaining that it's not coffee.
English

@stellarfury "Actual gameplay" and it's you being harassed for an hour before you get bored and switch games because the harassing mons you cant properly ENGAGE WITH
English

@BitterJeweler You cannot experience what Elden Ring fundamentally is as a game without the difficulty. What's on the screen is just software, what you experience as a human *is* the game.
Subnautica games with weapons... even if only modestly effective... changes the core DNA of the game.
English

@stellarfury Remember when people asked for an “easy mode” for Elden Ring (and other games) the fans always argued you should “play how the devs intended”?
Why doesn’t that apply here?
English

@JumpyFeller God forbid they experience actual gameplay.
The threats in these games *are* the gameplay and if you are just handed a tool that neutralizes them...
They don't want gameplay, they want dopamine hits.
Or they just want to complain about stuff on social media.
English

@VinuShmup My switch (not ns2) preorder was cancelled likely due to og switch release getting canned. Looks like I was spared.
My feed has been loads of really bad issues ppl are posting.... sorta unreal.
English

About wrapping this guy up... at least the easier version.

I would have settled for "Progression Slop" but anything that distances it from actual bullet hell games is for the better.
PC Gamer@pcgamer
It's official: Steam decrees 'bullet heaven' the name of the Vampire Survivors genre pcgamer.com/gaming-industr…
English

4b boss - probably the easier variant... too few bullets for this late in the game but I like the patterns. Will need to figure out how to ratchet it up.

English

@mossmouth Games that require you to use your faculties as a human imo are the games worth playing... because there lies the actual game. What's on the screen is just software.
A game that requires me to clear my head and put aside the self-doubt - maybe that's a muscle worth exercising.
English

@Spiders_STG Pretty sure I saw a Derek Yu video of a GDC talk where he references DoDonPachi.
English

@Spiders_STG A game like Blue Revolver could introduce inertia and a shop system and people would at least give it an honest try.
I, on the other hand, feel like I have to convince people my game is not a euroshmup.
That said, maybe call it "Cheats" and bury it a bit... might be enough.
English

@stellarfury Someone in the replies mentioned Blue Revolver Double Action had a cheats menu. Might be a good reference point if it’s done appropriately there? (I haven’t really played it)
