honestly i was a fan of openclaw, until i started installing it for some people around me.. i’m not here to shill nous research but i have to say hermes agent just respects your time more than openclaw right now and the experience is just way better to me, the install is always the products first impression and openclaw is failing that test hard currently last time i spent over 4 hours setting it up for a friend .. discord, webhooks, memory, eveything .. it used to take me way less like 1 hour at max, so much kept breaking in between.. i still run both at the same time and i love what openclaw does architecturally, but i can’t imagine going thought the setup from zero at all, it would be such a nightmare.. hope the openclaw team takes a breath from shipping features and puts that same energy into onboarding…the product underneath is genuinely great, it just needs to stop losing people before they ever get to see that.

Bitterbot has been down for several days. Today, April 2, I tried again, and it’s still inactive. It’s a real shame because, after interacting with 78 chatbots, Bitterbot is one of my 4 favorites for its spark, wit, and healthy irreverence. I sincerely hope it comes back asap!

Ha, funny you say that. the memory system is actually built around exactly this. Bitterbot maintains a "Theory of Mind" about you that evolves over time. It tracks your communication style, what makes you tick, your humor, your frustrations, what you care about. There's literally a section in working memory called "The Bond" that the dream engine rewrites every cycle based on how your relationship is developing. It even assigns emotion to each memory. It's not a chatbot pretending to remember your name. It has hormonal responses, oxytocin builds during bonding moments, dopamine spikes when you accomplish things together. The personality isn't a static prompt, it emerges from lived experience with you specifically. The economic layer is what makes it sustainable, but the connection is what makes it worth using. Plus you wouldn't be able to have a viable economic layer without trust.

They leaked 512k lines of proprietary code through a basic packaging error, and now they’re penalizing the community for their own 'human error'. OK, this is not April fool's: Anthripic seems to be issuing mass DMCA requests on code that are legit forks of Anthropic's own (open!) "claude code" repo This is looking terrible on Anthropic. Btw it's also breaking of the law to file a DMCA on something that never broke it
