What the fuck? Imagine drinking coffee or eating peacefully and someone tries to take your life with a knife? So lucky it didn’t end terribly, scary scene.

Incident in Bolton yesterday where a man walks into a shop and stabs the person sat down. The person who gets stabbed reacts quickly in self defence. In the end the attacker just sits down like nothing has happened.

different salaries should simply impact how luxurious your shit is. Not the quality of someone’s food and their ability to afford rent. If you are willing to work 40 hours at ANY job your income should be enough to live in the town you work in. Thinking otherwise is an abysmal indicator of your humanity.

So I had an idea. Hospitals should be required to give every new parent a pamphlet on baby safety. It should include everything from “don’t leave your baby on a changing table” to “don’t give honey to children under the age of two,” to “don’t give babies water.” There’s a lot of basic stuff that people don’t know, and aren’t necessarily going to be taught, even in a parenting class.

I want to be rich. But not Lamborghini or Rolex rich, I want to be rich enough to go to the gym at 3pm and nobody can tell me no. To tap the family in front of me at the supermarket and say, "It's on me," Rich enough that my future wife never has to worry about getting a job. Rich enough to show my children the world, not pictures of it. Rich enough to take my friends to dinner and say, "| got this", Rich enough that God uses me to help the people who are in need. That's my version of rich.

There’s a moment that happens to new parents, probably around four in the morning, when you’ve been up all night with a sick kid, and they’ve just thrown up again, and you’re so fucking tired and frustrated, but it’s outweighed by the sympathy you feel for this helpless dependent, and most of all you just want them to feel better, and then it hits you that this is what your mom did for you, and in that moment you understand your parents in a new way, fully comprehend what they did for you — like, you really get it, way down in your stomach, not just in the abstract way that anybody can understand what parents do for children — and you realize that from now on you’re always going to see things from the perspective of the parent, not as a child, and a lot of your complaints and hangups and neuroses will melt away, never to return, and from now on the stories you’ll tell about your childhood, stories you’ve told 1000 times before, will have a slightly different character, will be based on a fuller understanding of who you are and what actually happened to you, and you’ll think, “my God, in all those years of childlessness, I’ve cheated myself of this realization, of this opportunity to understand the world as it really is and move on.” And if you’re childless and reading this, then maybe you’re thinking, “sure, but obviously I can intellectually understand this without having children of my own” and it’s just, like, no, probably not. It just doesn’t really work like that.

@zluezain·
i don’t get why zayn is constantly painted as aggressive/violent bc of this situation when it was legally treated as a verbal dispute. louis beat up a girl at an airport, was caught on video & was detained yet he never gets labeled violent. this is simply a racist smear campaign
@zluezain

to everyone bringing the yolanda situation into this… zayn’s charges were summary (A3) verbal harassment after yolanda broke into his home w a random man and attempted to take his child without his consent. his charges are minor and on par with low level infractions (grade S)+

One thing I did not fully appreciate as a first time mom is how much 1-on-1 time you get with your baby. At the time I did not think much of it because it was all I knew. But looking back after having two more, I realize that was a luxury. With my second and third, the 1-on-1 time shrinks. There is always another child who needs something. You are breastfeeding the baby while managing a toddler question bank. You are putting the baby down for a nap while your oldest needs help with something. You inevitably are splitting your attention. It's not a bad thing, just different! If you are a first time mom right now, cherish the amount of undivided time and attention you get with your baby.

ALERT: Jury broke down in tears today while footage of Tanner Horner killing 7-year-old Athena Strand was played. They were also shown footage of Horner telling his boss that he had “thrown up” in the truck, requesting the same vehicle the next day. The footage of the abduction reportedly showed Horner dropping off a package, a Barbie Christmas gift. Horner allegedly picked up Athena and placed her in the back of the FedEx truck and closed the door. He is then seen whispering something to her as she is moved from the back of the truck to the front. Athena then asks, “Are you a kidnapper?” Horner told her to sit down and not scream, or he would hurt her. Seeing this caused some of her family members to leave the courtroom. Horner then covered the camera so only audio could be heard. After trying to make conversation about how old Athena was, where she goes to school, Horner says, “You're really pretty. You know that?” Horner then asked Athena to take off her shirt. She said “No” and asked for her mom. Athena was then heard crying, screaming, and loud banging was coming from the back of the truck, according to local reports. Athena's parents, Jacob Strand and Maitlyn Gandy, have both testified in the trial, but they did not sit in the courtroom while the video was played. After cleaning the back of the truck with some kind of spray and a roll of paper towels, Horner was heard on the phone, claiming he had eaten bad food and gotten sick, and requesting the same FedEx truck the next day.

Israel has destroyed the final bridge to Southern Lebanon. There is now no way for millions of displaced people to reach their homes. There is no means for essential aid and supplies to reach those who were unable to flee. Another mammoth war crime, another act of barbarity.

Life in Canada is so depressing. I take home 57% of my wage after income tax, before sales taxes and other taxes. I make a wage in roughly the 95th percentile of incomes in my province, and if I don’t want to live in a shoebox, my wife needs to work rather than raise our two little kids. All to provide lavish benefits to the thousands and thousands of unproductive takers, who vote themselves an ever larger share of a shrinking economic pie. It’s bleak

It’s annoying that we realize children need a summer break and several vacations a year because they attend school, but we think it makes sense for adults to work 40 hours a week all year and probably get 2–3 weeks off in a whole year if you’re lucky.
