So, late 2024, someone came to me, asked me to invest 180M into an idea, plan was to give back my capital with interest after a short while. My lawyer was around, we signed papers. It’s been stories since then, this guy lied that he was suffering at some point, he later said he was in China, different story at different point in time. He then became unreachable for a long while, we were not even sure if he was still alive.
Only for the police to start working on him recently, and they caught him today, in this same Nigeria.
Lesson learnt tho, never again.

I just learnt that‘Citizen arrest’ is constitutional in South Africa.
This seems to explain why those groups and thugs targeting foreigners often face little to no immediate consequences, even when they loot shops and destroy foreign-owned businesses and properties. No wonder we rarely hear about arrests in such cases. they are backed by law.
This is quite concerning.
