Back in June, PD Quga from Merseyside Police displayed the highest level of courage and bravery when her handler came under attack by a violent male. Quga was kicked, strangled, and bitten, but refused to give in, ensuring her handler stayed safe until the offender stopped. Thankfully, Quga made a full recovery and returned to duty. This week, the offender, Owen Rooney, pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, under Finn's Law, and will be sentenced in January 2025. Police dogs across the United Kingdom are protected in the line of duty, thanks to the legacy of our ambassa-dog, Police Dog Finn. 💙🇬🇧🐶

Hopefully this counts as turning the Christmas lights on in my garden... runway light from RAF Beaulieu. Restored and repaired and now connected to power, so this possibly be first time it's been lit up since the 1940s. Red bulb seemed festive.

Watching "Villages by the Sea" about Buckler's Hard on BBC 2, great show... but they did a section about the Mulberry Harbour construction on the Beaulieu River, and show a photo to illustrate it - of the Admiralty Floating Dock - which was not part of the Mulberry Harbour. 😤
