We also spoke to his lawyer, @GoodmanLen, who broke down this case and the trivial amount of alleged Russian money—$7,000 over six years—"linking" this group to the Kremlin. "It's laughable to suggest that this has nothing to do with the fact... that they're criticizing the govt."

We spoke last night to Omali, who explained how the claim that he is suddenly taking marching orders from Moscow belies his decades of this same political activism around the world. "There's nothing that we're doing now that we haven't been doing for the last last 50 years."

Last week, the Defendants' Motion to Dismiss was denied by a magistrate judge, who warped the concept of 1st Am protections to recommend this case move forward, claiming the political content of their speech had nothing to do with the govt's case. It's absurd on its face.
