I remember in Afghanistan we gave the Afghan National Army EOD guys a bomb suit. A month later we noticed it was still in pristine condition. It had never been used. “Why aren’t you using the bomb suit?” We asked the commander He casually replied, “I only have one bombsuit, but many Privates”

@GSVBemusementPk @EODHappyCaptain Granted they also usually dont really defuse them so much as figure out what the safe distance to stand at is so they can trigger it “safely” which usually just means they walked about 50 yards away and shot it

@GSVBemusementPk @EODHappyCaptain Depends on the ordance but usually even our EOD guys leave it in the truck because they’re going to die if it goes off in front of them regardless so might as well die comfortable
