1. Iran is charging a toll for ships that go through the Strait of Hormuz, and Indonesia floated doing the same for the #1 energy chokepoint: The Malacca Straits
2. Iran was able to easily seize ships, so the Somalis are now doing it at the Bab el-Mandeb straits, and already seized 2 ships so far this week
This war has led to many terrible unintended consequences, and we're just starting to see them unfold

The irony is brutal.
Trump's own price controls are making American crude artificially cheap to foreign buyers, pulling supply away from domestic markets while oil prices keep climbing at home.
He promised to halve energy prices, while this war just made America the world's most in-demand oil exporter.
