@BlakeLinton

I live to see technological progress. Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, Elon Musk, and hard sci-fi fan. $TSLA shareholder, Texan, conservative, patriot. 🇺🇸

@rhensing @venti_pelo Exactly. What appears to be a trolley problem to us mere humans is usually actually avoidable by a sufficiently superhuman driver—either through lightning-fast action during the crisis, or by avoiding the crisis in the first place.

FSD faced a real life trolley problem today and everyone lived. I was messing with the MCU when I felt the truck jerk right and then a harder jerk left. Cresting a hill a lady was coming into my lane so FSD moved to the shoulder to avoid her but a jogger was coming so it quickly veered left to give room. 💪🤘

@Punjabipilot @TeslaBoomerMama It just looks that way to you because you've voted in the poll already. People who haven't voted see your repost with the capability to vote. (Until they themselves vote; then of course it changes to the results for them too.)

@TeslaBoomerMama After voting it shows the results. I did repost but guess it reposts the results and not necessarily the capability to vote.

@alexwg Stross' assertion reminds me of Edgar Allan Poe's similarly modest claim about "The Raven"—that its composition arose not from a flash of brilliant inspiration but "proceeded step by step, to its completion, with the precision and rigid consequence of a mathematical problem."

@Tim69007092 @rhensing True, but the AI still doesn't need to know he's jogging or what jogging is. The training data presumably contains the knowledge that humans moving parallel to the road at that speed usually continue to do so.

@BlakeLinton @rhensing When it comes to predicting his position, the difference between a jogger and a road-crosser is large.

@Tim69007092 @rhensing Hopefully not. All it needs to know is that he's a human and his velocity. Anything more is a waste of precious computing resources.

@wholemars Assuming her horse guided itself, the most impressive self-driving streak is surely that of Lady Godiva. 😉

NEWSFLASH: Random guy on X owns 2,915 shares of Tesla! You know it's a slow news day when you're nobody and "Top stories" are about $TSLA stock transactions comparable to what you personally own. 😀

@C_S_Skeptic @elonmusk @FT Asteroid mining. Way easier to do from Mars because Earth's higher gravity is exponentially more difficult to overcome. Mars is also closer to the asteroid belt.

@elonmusk @FT Here's your problem - here is absolutely no financial motivation or economic case for colonizing Mars. None. And YOU can't provide one, either. But, feel free to try.

The politicians think this is about blocking big tech when actually they are going to strangle little tech while also destroying jobs and American competitiveness at the global level It’s all so knee jerk and shortsighted texastribune.org/2026/05/12/tex…

Sanders and AOC introduced a bill to pause ALL AI data center construction. 300+ local bills filed. Half of planned 2026 data centers facing delays or cancellation. Each one brings billions to local economies. The people who say they want American jobs are trying to block the biggest job creation engine since the interstate highway system.

If Trump allows trillions of dollars for Chinese companies to enter the US with no labor laws or unions, our American workers will suffer. He should have taken manufacturers, farmers, & steel workers to China instead of the global financial elite who betrayed American workers. @jrpsaki

@dannyngwsh @Yuhang__Hu @elonmusk Nonsense! It is humanizing, humane, and empowering. Think of all the physically, mentally, or emotionally disabled, autistic, or simply lonely people—millions who suffer alone and afraid—who can be helped by beautiful, selfless machines of loving grace.

Silicon Valley-based company Tensor Auto claims their Robocar will be the first L4 autonomous vehicle commercially available for consumers in 2026. It costs ~$200,000. The vehicle has over 100 sensors: • 37 cameras • 5 LiDARs • 11 radar units • 22 microphones • 10 ultrasonics • 8 water level sensors and more The steering wheel and pedals fold out if you want to drive manually. You could probably buy 6+ Tesla Cybercabs for the price of one of these.
