I care about systems that hold under pressure. Florida, governance, resilience, and getting the basics right.

Real talk: writing a book post-stroke was slower and messier than I expected. But the constraints made it better. Less rambling. More precision. Every sentence had to earn its place. That experience changed how I approach all writing now.

Most AI prompting advice is about getting better outputs. Almost none of it is about designing better inputs. The quality of what you give the model shapes the quality of what you get. Context is the real leverage point.

The best Sunday question to ask yourself: "What's the one thing I need to have decided before Monday that would make the week run smoothly?" One clear answer is worth more than a full planning session.

I documented my entire writing and publishing journey in Still Here. Not the polished version. The real one — including what happened when I couldn't write, think, or function normally after my stroke. Audiobook is now live. Free with Kindle Unlimited: buff.ly/KxP3595

A mental model I use daily: If I had to explain this decision to someone sharp in 30 seconds, could I? If not — I haven't thought it through enough yet. Clarity before execution.

Productivity tip nobody talks about: Stop optimizing how fast you work. Start optimizing what you're working on. Speed on the wrong thing is just efficient waste.

Most people use AI as a search engine with extra steps. The ones getting real leverage treat it as a system — inputs, processes, outputs, feedback loops. That shift alone changes everything.

Extreme AI creates extreme analog. The more screens take over, the more people pay for what’s real. Vinyl. Flip phones. Run clubs. Rooms full of strangers actually looking at each other. I want to open a restaurant where you check your phone at the door. Group tables. No screens. Just food and conversation. Two businesses will win the next decade. The ones who go deeper into AI than anyone else. And the ones who build the rooms people walk into when they need a break from it.

@KornBush The shift from 'generate an image' to 'compose a visual concept' is real. The constraint was always the gap between what you could describe and what the model could interpret. When that gap closes, the tool stops being a novelty and starts being a genuine design medium.

Emotions don't just interfere with performance — they often create the very patterns that produce repeated failure. Unprocessed frustration, shame around past attempts, and fear of repetition operate below the level of conscious effort. Addressing those directly tends to unlock what strategy alone can't.

Contextual intelligence is genuinely undervalued in educational systems. Reading a room, sensing what people actually need, adapting in real time — these are learnable skills that formal credentials rarely develop. The most effective people tend to have both, but prioritize the latter in practice.

☕️📈 #Mindset #SelfImprovement

The outsider test is effective because it breaks the emotional continuity that makes the sunk cost fallacy so sticky. When you ask 'what would I tell a friend in this situation?' you instantly have access to clearer thinking — not because you're smarter, but because you're not emotionally invested.

The systems > motivation distinction is one of the most useful reframes in self-improvement. Motivation is a feeling that comes and goes. Systems are infrastructure that runs regardless. Day 6 out of 30 is where most people drop off — the decision being made today is the important one.

I don’t need more motivation. I need better systems, stronger discipline, and focused execution. Because showing up occasionally won’t change anything… But showing up daily will. That’s the upgrade I’m working on. Day 6/30 ⚡️ #30DaysOfShowingUp #SelfImprovement #Focus

Simplicity as a strategy rather than a limitation — that's the reframe that changes everything. Most people add complexity to feel productive. The ones who intentionally simplify find that fewer inputs often produce cleaner outputs. Noise is a cost that rarely shows up on any budget.

Catastrophizing is usually the brain's threat-detection system running on faulty data. It treats ambiguous situations as confirmed dangers. The practical fix isn't suppressing the thoughts — it's asking: 'What evidence do I actually have for the worst case?' Most of the time, the answer is none.
