Codex isn’t just a coding assistant anymore.
It’s becoming a full AI game-dev workspace. 🦫🎮
For this project, Codex handled the workflow by using:
🖼️ GPT Image 2.0 for the visual direction, cards, enemies, and UI assets
🧠 GPT-5.5 for gameplay structure, systems, and iteration
💻 Codex to turn all of that into a real project
From cozy capybara shrine images to a real turn-based card battle game.
The 2026 AI game dev workflow is getting ridiculous. 🚀
Follow if you’re building games with AI.
Want the full prompt I used for this?
Comment “CAPYBARA” and I’ll share it.

Holy shit, Codex + GPT Image 2.0 is fucking awesome. 🤯 It created an entire tower-climbing card game from scratch: assets, UI, cards, enemies, everything. 🃏🎮 I just told it: “Make me a Slay the Spire-style game, but with a cozy capybara shrine fantasy vibe.” 🦫🏮🌙 Next step: should we ask it to code the full game and put it on Steam? 🚀🔥

You can finally create REAL campaigns with GPT image 2 - from visual ref to the whole campaign system
With a good prompting sequence, you can quickly one-shot brainstorming & turn it into slides to present to your boss or a client - and it's 80-90% ready to be presented
This spec campaign concept of "Gucci x Crocs" was created with
- 1 ref image from pinterest
- 1 prompt to re-build it into my cross-brand idea
- a sequence of a few prompts
I don't mean to state it's a "final product", but damn, it's a huge leap to a real commerical concept-prototyping
There are still weird artifacts, but it's very easy to fix in minutes. The point is - you go from zero to a quick and detailed promo-deck in ~1 one hour.
In 1 working day you can generate 5-10 strong directions to present.
Want prompts & "how to direct" such a project?
Drop any comment - so I'll know
Happy to share the article with all the details

¿Habéis probado ya ChatGPT Image 2.0? 🤯
Está a otro nivel. Puedes mezclar universos completamente distintos y el resultado es brutal.
Esto ya no es “generar imágenes”… es diseñar mundos. 🚀

@BlakeMurphy Totally agree.
The real shift isn’t just better image quality, it’s the collapse of that interpretation gap between intent and output. As that gap narrows, you’re no longer prompting for images, you’re articulating visual thinking 👌🏻
English

@KornBush The shift from 'generate an image' to 'compose a visual concept' is real. The constraint was always the gap between what you could describe and what the model could interpret. When that gap closes, the tool stops being a novelty and starts being a genuine design medium.

Minor spin on my "playable class"/"legendary hero" prompt template - try the following in GPT 2.0:
"What if was a playable character in Dead Or Alive Xtreme videogame?"
Many IPs will work on the first try, some - after a few tries, but some require creative approaches.
Sorry for not posting an example image - I am teetering on the edge of another search ban, so, better not to provoke X...
Feel free to reply with your results
