If there's one thing the new Apple TV specials actually does right, it's giving Franklin some time to have an actual character other than "the normal one".

I always had the feeling that the reason franklin never had "quirks" like the other characters was because schulz didn't want to potentially be offensive or racist. Franklin, as much as I love him, doesn't really do a lot in the strips other than talking about his grandfather (1)
