Its genuinely insane that so many Americans now believe NATO was created as a charity. As if that is what the US has ever done. Please please stop threatening to leave, and just do it. Don't threaten, or warn, just DO IT.

NATO was never a US charity organisation, it was a way for the US to project power against the USSR its main Geo-political rival. But yes, it should withdraw now the logic changed. Then just pick a lane. Countering China, or fighting Israel's wars. Commit there instead.

🚨 BREAKING: President Trump is considering PUNISHING the NATO countries which were UNHELPFUL to the US during the Iran operation, per WSJ Trump would move US troops OUT of those particular NATO countries, and station them in countries that SUPPORTED the US. No brainer. And then he should totally withdraw from NATO.

@romanhelmetguy Congress probably wont do anything though, as this is a huge detractor for blue states, and red states like the blue states shooting themselves in the foot.

Congress has the full power to stop this. It can regulate interstate commerce. Moving your wealth across state lines should not be a taxable event. That’s against the spirit of the United States.
KOMO News@komonews

Across the country, at least ten states, including Washington, are now exploring or have already passed an exit or wealth tax to combat revenue losses from residents fleeing to lower tax areas komonews.com/news/nation-wo…

We're not going to travel beyond the solar system, according to Leonard Susskind. And neither are aliens, coming to visit us. We may not be alone, but we are stuck here for, essentially forever. 1. The nearest star is 4.24 light years away. The fastest spacecraft ever built would require 6,600 years to get there. 2. Surely we can just build faster spacecraft. The problem is to get to anywhere close to the speed of light, we need exponentially more energy. 3. Chemical rockets will just not work. Even fusion rockets won't work. Even 10% of the speed of light is not achievable. The Tsiolkovsky Rocket Equation prevents it. 4. Interstellar dust becomes hand grenades when traveling anywhere close to the speed of light. Ships break. 5. Space radiation will kill us over the time need to travel interstellar distances. Impossible to protect without massive shields, which require massive energy to accelerate and de-accelerate.

@OlsenTrini @EWErickson South Pars funds Iran's missiles, drones, and proxies. Bombing infrastructure that powers aggression is a wartime reality, not a crime. Iran's choices created this, US & Israel responded with war.

@OlsenTrini @EWErickson The leaders changed but not the regime. Regardless, Iran's military is set back many years, their oil/gas/refining has been taken offline, and other infrastructure is a mess... and the conflict isn't over. Gulf Arab allies won't allow Iran to own the Strait of Hormuz. We'll see!

@OlsenTrini @EWErickson It worked in the sense they killed the leader and a bunch of sub-leaders. It didn't work in the sense that the conflict is still unresolved. Time will tell, but there's almost no chance Iran's neighbors will agree to Iran tolling Hormuz long-term, seems to be their only leverage.

@Nostre_damus CNN lied, it was never agreed to. A ceasefire was anounced, both side said it was time to talk, both sides submitted iniital framework for discussion, and then both sides kept on fighting (minus the US, who seems to be oberving the ceasefire).
