@Baaa_bara@highfivedave You’re changing your story fyi. Do you own the property or not? If you do then yes you’re subject to the charges. If you do but you’re saying someone lives there (who doesn’t), then that’s fraud.
@Bloop10101@highfivedave No I'm not, the land is freehold and belongs to me, not the county. I pay DCWW for my foul and surface water disposal and if I'm not here I'm not using any of the highways or facilities. So what exactly am I supposed to be paying for?
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave I have plenty to say about HB cheats, I am with you on that. Difference is I don’t like cheats regardless of if they’re poor or rich like yourself.
@Bloop10101@highfivedave Whoopie fuckin doo for you. Please explain to me where exactly in the game of life does it say that it is fair for someone to pay for services that they don’t use, irrelevant of how much they earn? Go and target the real HB cheats with your Gestapo bullshit not the easy picking!
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave Like I said, if you updated all those things to something that wasn’t your main residence, it would be mass fraud. If you ever get caught if that is the case, then the LA would be the least of your worries
@Bloop10101@highfivedave No comment about me following your rules then? Whether you like it or not, if a person is using 2 properties roughly equally they can choose where and you know full well that it will cost the LA far more to investigate and prove to the contrary than any money recovered. 😉
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave You very well may pay more tax than I earn, but you also reap the reward of that. The simple truth is you pay less council tax as a proportion to your income than I do. Almost 10% of my income goes straight to council tax, I imagine yours is far less, and I don’t dodge mine.
@Bloop10101@highfivedave What you fail to acknowledge is that as a HBO, we most probably pay more in tax than what you earn, without the extra we put into the economy. Yet still you want to penalize us more. Good luck with the UK as I'll be out of here soon and taking my money with me & I'm not alone!
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave “Frequently” using a property doesn’t mean it’s your main residence. Where’s your car insurance address? What’s your HMRC address? What’s your driving license address? Where’s your registered GP? What county are your kids registered in (if applicable)? Etc etc
@Bloop10101@highfivedave How do you define main residence for someone as myself or the OP who is also a businessman and has stated that he frequently uses his 2nd place for business? What do you define temp for work as I've been on projects for up to 3 years. By your reasoning mine should be in England!
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave You luckily seemed to encountered someone who didn’t bother doing their job properly. A shame, you shouldn’t be flaunting your success at committing fraud.
@Bloop10101@highfivedave told them I had no obligation to provide that and as far as they were concerned I was NFA. They backed down. When he left I just changed it back, again with no problem. DVLA only asks for an address, nowhere does it state main.
@Bloop10101@highfivedave Furthermore I’ve spent the majority of the last 25 years living in England with work Mon-Fri. According to your rhetoric not only am I breaking the law with DVLA etc, I should also re-register my main home as a weekend holiday let. See how stupid you sound?
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave There’s no legal requirement no, but if there’s a premium on the property, and you don’t provide the information, there’s no legal requirement to remove the premium. Go phone your local council, they’ll say the same.
@Bloop10101@highfivedave Not sure which LA you work for but it’s definitely not mine. I also don’t care what you say, there is no legal requirement for a person to hand over copies of their financial information to register/de-register for council tax.
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave Until we’re satisfied that someone’s provided ample proof that it is their main residence, then yes. If they’ve moved out of county we can check with their previous county, if it matches up, the premium is removed. Others it may take 2-3 months, but it’s then backdated.
@Bloop10101@highfivedave Also a person can change residence in a day, so by your rhetoric they would have to build up a financial footprint at their new address before you would even consider changing their council tax? Utter bollox and you’re making this up as you go along.
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave And to make it clear why we don’t need warrants because I imagine you’re going to misinterpret what I said there. You must provide proof for the premium charge to be removed, we don’t find that information ourselves, therefore we don’t need warrants.
@Bloop10101@highfivedave Nah, you’re just full of shite or just don’t know much. Your incorrect claims regarding HMRC/DVLA were a dead giveaway as was the one response that was almost definitely written by AI. Similarly you’d need a warrant for any personal information and that’s not straightforward.
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave Ron, it is a legal requirement to update your drivers license to your main residence. If your drivers license address is different, that is illegal. You can phone the DVLA up yourself. Warrants? We don’t need them. You provide the information to us or the premium charge remains.
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave Hi Ron, I’m a council tax officer. I deal with people like you, and we obtain liability orders against people like you. Try that again now and I’ll happily greet you with open arms 😁
@Bloop10101@highfivedave Why do you think that I know it's possible? You can say all you like about all these systems and what might happen but the reality of it is more closer to my version. It's the same with HMRC, there's plenty of people on the fiddle but they simply do not have the resources.
@Bloop10101@highfivedave You’re showing just how really clueless you are to the real world. Credit checks only check your registered/historical address and DVLA/HMRC again only require a registered address. By your theory I’m breaking the law by spending 5 days/week in England you clueless clown! 🤣🤣🤣
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave And to clarify, you likely got away with it as the council were probably inundated with emails relating to premiums at the time. Try do it now, when they have dedicated premium and fraud teams because of people like you. It doesn’t end pretty.
@Baaa_bara@highfivedave You’ve evidently never heard of the NFI database, a credit check (thru Experian), financial footprints, and address traces. Neighbour’s statements can be used as evidence too fyi. And again, you’re committing fraud if you’re lying to HMRC and the DVLA on your main residence.
