The real reason the rise affiliation lost season 3? It's probably not some deep conspiracy, there's a much simpler answer. Been playing since 2K16, and this same story happens every year like clockwork. All these wild theories when the answer is right there...
It goes like this: all the good players pick one affiliation and start winning like crazy. Then more and more and MORE bad players think "hey, I want easy rep too" and they all switch over or join that same affiliation. When this happens, that "good" affiliation starts filling up with way too many lower-skilled players and naturally starts losing more.
That's it - no conspiracy, just simple numbers. We literally saw this exact thing happen with Sunset back in 2K16 and 2K17. It's just what happens when everybody tries to jump on the winning team.
Think about it: even if you have the top 100 players all grinding 300 games each, that's 30,000 games total. But when 15,000 average players hop in and play just 5 games each, that's 75,000 games affecting your win percentage. The math doesn't lie - your “top” players can't carry your win percentage when they're outnumbered 2 to 1 in total games played.
It's just basic numbers. 🤷♂️
