Read everything and definitely agree with a lot of your points. During my grind, I did something similar, but mostly with rep. I put everything into hitting the top rep every year, and that made views and content come easily. The problem for me was that kind of grind is not sustainable long term. I started to hate it. You cannot keep that pace forever, so you need a plan to slow down eventually or be ready to walk away.

In the spirit of speaking advice to those on their come up. My mantra or phrase I lived by on my journey is to make it you’ll have to do what others aren’t willing to. The margins that you can create between yourself in others is what will let you be the one to get there. In my younger years, my kamikaze style of content where I do daily videos for as long as I possibly can would last into April, and that commitment set me apart, while holding myself to a standard of making sure those videos did not reach a level I deemed too subpar to be prideful of simply just to keep the streak alive. It is a grueling strategy that forced a really isolated period of life for me, but if you’ve got the competitive stamina to endure it I really do feel like the strategy of digging deeper than anyone else can, or better yet, allows themself to endure (because a lot of people aren’t even trying their hardest) can give you a huge leg up on others. There is obviously more to it, honing your skills of speaking, cutting down the amount of time your edits and cuts take, creating a team around you that makes the content process simple and effective. In this space of 2k, that’s especially true for the teammates I’ve gained along the way that don’t get overly upset with games being posted of them playing poorly, as usually as a center it’s at their expense when I have a good game because they lean on me harder, or I carry more weight when they struggle. Just an example. I’d love to spend time talking about this in a video some time for those that are interested in trying to grow in the 2k space.

@cleenur That’s not how it works. Everyone has had mascots for years, so taking them away now is too late. People would just resent losing something they already had. It’s like if someone took away your PS5. It would not suddenly feel more valuable. You would just be mad they took it.

MAKE MASCOTS A REP REWARD AGAIN. we have completely made mascots irrelevant by giving them to everyone in season passes and spreading them out throughout 9 seasons. Exclusivity gives people reason to want to grind for something. @CHoops4Life @Beluba @Mike_Mainzer @LD2K

@supremesensai I would go further and say people heavily sleep on networking down, too. The people you’re more established than today may be the ones at the top tomorrow, and they’ll remember who recognized them when there was nothing to gain.

it makes me sad to see people not taking advantage of networking across and only wanting to network up.

More people would buy the game throughout the year too. Imagine buying the game on sale for $20 in February and then paying $60 for a build on top.

And if he did somehow affect the business to benefit his short, then, yes that would be a conflict. That’s market manipulation. NBA players directly compete against every team.

@PowerGotNow @Mookzy I wouldn’t say they like it, but they’ve grown to be more okay with it cause of that reason. They just got used to it, and it helped make their content better

The only time I’ve seen the 2K community unite like the EA community was during 2K17. If you’re an OG, you remember the community revolted and forced 2K to change the 2s court from losers out back to make-it, take-it. I haven’t seen people move like that since.

The problem with people complaining about VC prices is that nobody has offered a solution to offset the revenue lost from cutting prices

@Dirk_JDR @Grizzie100k @_xCalicutt Only the big names do. Look at the numbers from recent years, when nearly 100 creators were invited. The Joe Knows of the world get all the views. Creators who aren’t already established sometimes even get fewer views because people have already seen the content elsewhere.

@Grizzie100k @_xCalicutt Creators gain CRAZY momentum from community day. They get early access content to post on their YT and other socials. Depending on the size of the creator that has to be a real nice YouTube check.

Seeing all this micro transaction talk and trying to say 2K content creators should do it is funny. 2K has a stranglehold on the creators. If they come out and try to boycott, bye community day, bye logo, bye having your build featured. Too much for the creators to lose.
