A blockade will place a lot of American hardware and lives within range of cheap, numerous, crude but effective Iranian weapons - in particular drones. For context Iran is quoted at being able to produce up to 500 shaheds a month. If he’s going to do this lives Iranian lives will be lost and American lives may be lost. The loss of a single US warship could cause this conflict to spiral wildly.

The position which Orban has managed to occupy for the last 16 years is a fascinating one. Few world leaders have straddled such a chasm between ideologies and nations. The only leader who seems to come close to a similar position is Erdogan. To attract the support of both the Kremlin and the Whitehouse is quite the feat; making the possibility of a Magyar win even more captivating.

@Britbutmaybenot @ClownWorld At any point did I say it was acceptable or good? It’s a deplorable state of affairs but the fact remains that if Russia hadn’t invaded against the terms of multiple treaties since 1991 it would not be necessary.
