@RenaldoGouws Because we don't have thresholds, Al Jama-ah, with a vote share of 0.86%, has been able to put 2 Joburg mayors in power. There are 8 parties in Joburg with less than 1% vote share. They shouldn't have so much power.

The DA has moved from a political party offering hope to one scaring its voters into voting for them. This negative campaigning speaks to a bigger issue within the DA. They can't offer solutions, so they try to spread fear. Vote for who you want, but I suggest you vote based on your values and principles, not out of fear.

@mommy_moneyza SA simply does not have a shopkeeper mentality. All the previous shops were always run and owned by immigrants. Think of the corner cafe run by the Greeks and Portuguese. Think of the restaurants and coffee shops run by foreign born naturalised South Africans etc.

The problem is once you chase away the foreign spaza shop owners , the black South African will not take over those shops but the crony Retailers are going to move in. Spaza shops are going to become extinct like the corner cafe
