Ridiculous. To witness a perfectly usable operating system nosedive in quality over the past 5 years, has been painful. W11 is pathetic in so many ways, the fact that you have to debloat, "winhance", and more, just to make the damn thing work. W11 is a mirror of everything that has gone wrong in the software side recently. And yes, I'm a daily power user.

BREAKING: Microsoft just announced several major changes to Windows 11 in an effort to win back user trust and evolve the platform into something people will actually want to use over macOS and Linux! It's a huge announcement that addresses Windows 11's biggest problems today, tackling core fundamental issues such as unreliable system performance, UX consistency, AI bloat and general enshittification. Microsoft has confirmed that this year, it WILL be reducing where ads and Copilot appear throughout the system, including in Start, Widgets, Notepad, Photos, and more! File Explorer and Windows Search will be upgraded with improved performance and capabilities that make finding apps and files much faster and easier. The OS will become lighter with less RAM and system utilization at idle, making it smoother to run on low end hardware with limited memory. These improvements will also benefit high-end PCs too. Windows Update will be improved with more granular controls and the ability to postpone updates for longer, along with reducing how often the OS needs to restart to install an update. Microsoft has also confirmed that it's bringing back fan favourite features such as the ability to move the Taskbar! It's also working to update more areas of the system shell with modern WinUI designs, which should make Windows 11 feel more coherent and complete. There's much more in the announcement, and it honestly all sounds too good to be true. Microsoft really is listening to feedback, and is eager to make Windows the BEST desktop OS on the market. More details including when these changes will arrive in the link! windowscentral.com/microsoft/wind…

@Senninsage @NeurusC Windows is used more simply because A. People are forced to B. Windows exists across more hardware at many different prices C. Gaming. Dawg Microsoft is literally issuing apologies and saying how much they'll improve their poor excuse for an "operating system"

@NeurusC Macs aren't just expensive. The OS is absolute trash, and has been for years. Windows is used as heavily as it is because it's flat out superior. I know some don't like to admit as much, but it's true.

People already use Windows far more than macOS and Linux, and they do so by choice. Windows can improve, but it's lightyears better than either Linux or MacOS.

How low France had fallen 😢 Live from Tel Aviv, France's foreign minister condemns Hezbollah and Iran for their "aggressions against Israel" against which "Israel has obviously the right to defend itself." Literally framing Iran and Hezbollah as the aggressors here and Israel as the poor victim merely defending itself 🤦 All the more disgusting given the historical depth of France's links to Lebanon, which go back all the way to St. Louis in the 13th century, when France committed to protecting the Maronite nation in Mount Lebanon. France is betraying a 700-year relationship. Chirac was extremely close to Lebanon, so much so that after leaving office he spent the last decade of his life in an apartment owned by the Hariri family. When Chirac died in 2019, Saad Hariri said: "I felt a great sadness. The same sadness I felt when I lost my father" (thisisbeirut.com.lb/articles/13080…). And now, just as Israel is invading the place, destroying the South of the country like it did Gaza (according to Israel themselves who literally said "we are going to do what we did in Gaza": axios.com/2026/03/14/isr…) and displacing 1 million civilians, France is telling the Lebanese, from the territory of its aggressors: "too bad, Israel has every right to do this to you" 🤮

❗️What you see here is the result of Iranian missile fire. The Old City in Jerusalem, right near the Temple Mount, was impacted by Iranian missile fragments. The Iranian regime once again proves they fire indiscriminately—whether at civilian areas or holy sites—all with the intention of destroying the State of Israel.

Israel is a tiny, genocidal occupying power with a single-digit population that enforces an apartheid system. America’s unconditional support for this regime has done nothing but artificially entrench its hostility toward Iran, a millennia-old civilization of more than 90 million people, sitting at the crossroads of the world’s energy and trade routes. It has alienated at least 1.5 billion Muslims across the Islamic world, turned the Global South against the United States, and ignited anti-American sentiment on every continent. This relationship has also corrupted American democracy from within: it has turned Congress into an Israeli outpost, forced politicians and the media into rigid conformity, effectively nullified the US Constitution, and compelled ordinary Americans to pay in blood and treasure for a foreign government most neither like nor understand. The United States has gained absolutely NOTHING from this toxic, abusive, and perverse alliance.

Microsoft has the perfect MacBook Neo competitor with the Surface Laptop 13 but it's just a little bit too expensive If they can get it down to $600, that's your Windows neo competitor. At $899/$999 you're getting to MacBook Air territory and the Air is simply better

@Duckeeoh @Justtowatch777 @ShinjiTheCuban Yes there's a difference between them but state control of capital is still capitalism. That's the point I'm making. It doesn't really matter the route if proletariats are subject to more or lesser exploitation and having to sell labor power to live

@Blueciffer2 @Justtowatch777 @ShinjiTheCuban I mean argue it’s revisionist or a betrayal or whatever all you want (as I said, I’m not a dengist), that’s not the point. The state controls the flows of capital rather than the other way around. There’s a clear difference between Deng and Gorby

@CoryPTech2020 @dalevon_digital Heavy on the 7 pro tho. It's my daily driver but the overheating and mediocre battery really hold it back. I'm either gonna get a pixel 9 pro or that OnePlus 15. But I heard from many the 8 pro had similar issues with battery and performance

I wanted to make sure I show the whole conversation. I find it funny. Over the pass generations I've had issues with the Pixels. Especially the Pixel 6 series. I had to hop on the beta to fit most of my issues and good took months to fix it in stable. But because I don't share the same experience/problems (multitasking) I'm a unrealistic fan. I wonder how many people have multitasking issues like him with every single Pixel?

@r_lumaris @zacbowden This "innovation" is resource intensive spyware that nobody asked for, wants or uses. Actual innovation would be an OS that doesn't need 32gb of ram just to run somewhat smoothly. Poor excuse of an "OS"

It looks like Microsoft has shelved plans to bring Copilot to areas of the Windows 11 shell like notifications and the Settings app. These experiences were originally unveiled in 2024, but never arrived. I understand that the company is looking to reduce AI bloat across the OS this year, and part of that effort includes reevaluating where Copilot buttons appear in system apps and interfaces. windowscentral.com/microsoft/wind…
