@MattGinella @firepitstories I agree that there is a lack of links courses on rota and lahinch was arguably one of the best in recent times. Logistics and money play a big part I guess and k club so close to Dublin with a massive 5 star hotel where presumably the golfers will stay is a big ✅

Damn! Yet another week in which the Irish Open sells out to something other than a links course as host of their national championship. I get it, it’s all about the money, but this bruises the soul of game, stomps on the heart of the Golf Gods and burns the eyes of everyone watching. I hope somewhere, deep down in places they don’t talk about at parties, someone is embarrassed for what they’ve done here. This might be an “Open,” but it’s not an Irish Open.
