@CoachKarl22 Jill and I grew up together. I had the honor of meeting Joe when he was with the Nuggets. He hired me on the staff of the 14ers and became a big brother to me. He was such a caring man!!!

Sad news with the sudden passing of former all-state forward Joe Wolf today. Wolf starred at Kohler High School and at North Carolina before embarking on a long NBA career. One of the best to ever play high school basketball in Wisconsin. Died of apparent heart attack.

@tromblybaseball Have been coaching since I was 17. Coached at a high level but spent the last 10 years at the High School level. Decided last year was my final year of coaching. Parent expectations have become unrealistic. Everyone thinks their kid should get a scholarship. I’m 57

True story. I’m about to quit coaching baseball. Just had an issue with an unrealistic parent and I’m over it. Parents are ruining youth sports. Such a big deal I am putting tbis out there.

It's real. A lot of high schools with coaching openings are simply settling for someone that will be willing to coach. Instead of. Searching for an air craft carrier. Searching for a difference maker. Searching for someone to build a dynamic perennial power. Searching for someone with a track record of getting players to the next level. Yes, the coach needs to be employed by the school and on campus. No, it doesn't need to be someone employed elsewhere that simply shows up for practice. Yes, it needs to be someone with a degree and teaching certificate. If athletic directors can't hire air craft carriers, they need to be the band director and not the athletic director.
