@aviation_on_x @airmainengineer An engine stall normally doesn’t require to shut the engine down. Reducing thrust might be enough. If you shut the engine down you loose the engine hydraulic pump and engine generator complicating things more.

What would you do in this case if you were the pilot and the aircraft maintenance engineer?

@airmainengineer Initially just continue to get the ac airborne. Gear up and engage autopilot. Than start the actions for engine stall which normally implies reducing thrust on the engine for which you might have to adjust your departure route due to obstacles/terrain.

Just came across this Generation Z pilot summarising her first year in the airline with 2 fatigue calls. It’s not that she calles in too tired to work but the fact that she posts it without embarrassment that gets my attention.

Picture this... it's your second day as a British Airways flight attendant and you’re already living the aviation nightmare. 😅 Yesterday afternoon (May 16), on BA217 from Heathrow T5 to Washington Dulles, a brand new crew member on literally his second flight ever heard the captain say 'Cabin doors to automatic' during pushback... and thought it meant 'open the damn door.' Boom... he yanks the handle on Door 3L. Emergency slide deploys full send onto the tarmac. Fire trucks roll in thinking it's a real evac. The 26-year-old Boeing 777-200ER (G-VIIY) sits there for over SIX HOURS while engineers swap the slide and check everything. That one mistake cost BA a fortune... new slides aren't cheap, plus lost slots, crew hours, etc. Passengers were stuck on the plane or gate for ages. As someone who's been through the training, they DRILL this into you: door ops are sacred. One wrong move and you're suspended + retraining. @StephenFleming @ytekedejong @AirFranceKLM I had the same with EasyJet last year. Suitcase damaged, took a picture and loaded it into the easyJet app and shortly later a brand new suitcase was delivered to our home.

Kudos to @AirFranceKLM. They destroyed my wife’s suitcase (stuff happens), so we trudged to the service desk. I was hoping for some duct tape and expected to fill out a form where, maybe, they’d send me twenty bucks in six weeks or so. Nope! The friendly and efficient clerk apologized for the damage, measured our suitcase, went into the back room, and returned with a brand-new suitcase, the same size, still in the shrink wrap. We swapped the contents right there and rolled out of baggage claim with the new suitcase. Nicely done. That’s the sort of service I’d expect from Singapore Air, not a European carrier. (By the way, what happened to @SamsoniteUSA? Apparently they’re no longer gorilla-proof…)

Meisjes worden aangerand en verkracht door minderjarige #asielzoekers op het Da Vinci College in #Wassenaar. Een 11-jarig Oekraïens meisje is verkracht door een 18-jarige asielzoeker tijdens een tussenuur op school. De jongen heeft haar meegelokt naar de Albert Heijn. Ze is daar buiten verkracht. De school stopt het in de doofpot. De dader zit niet vast, de politie doet niets. Een meisje (14) is op het schoolplein meerdere keren aangerand door #azc-tuig. 😡 De school kan haar veiligheid niet garanderen, daarom blijft het meisje nu thuis. Een ander meisje kan 's avonds niet meer naar sport of de supermarkt gaan omdat ze wordt lastiggevallen.😢👆
