@takhtehchianmd I think this year we have the greatest depth we have had since 2005. It’s not just Wagler. He has an off game and two or three step up.

@RandPaul I don’t see how the U.S. solves its debt problem without currency devaluation, either through printing or default. And printing is essentially a de facto default.

We are swimming in a sea of debt. That is the real threat. The debt that Washington keeps piling on will drag this country down.

@sneako Everyone claims someone is “winning” in the middle of a war. History usually decides that years later.

Iran is currently winning this war. US will probably deploy ground troops and it will be a disastrous loss. Then Trump will retreat and claim victory. Israel wins, aiming to destroy Al Aqsa next and claim all the power US lost in the GCC. Strait of Hormuz will remain Iran’s.

@CyborgPeds @TomcatJunkie Some are called cruises, some called patrols, and some are called deployments and commies will be shocked that none of them are that much fun. This ain’t the Carnival Cruise Line Commie!

@TacticalGramps @tshugart3 I was on the receiving end of many. It is always better to give than receive! Vulcan death watches were brutal.

@BobKoonce @tshugart3 I don't know if I'd volunteer for that again, but being prior NPEB, I understand your love for ORSE, lol. I don't miss the Volken death watches at all.

And it was always balanced out with lower cost meals. At least when I was in Command (2008-2010) the Chop (Supply Officer) tracked the daily average spend to stay on budget for the month and year. Lower cost meals allowed for occasional higher end stuff like steak and lobster. Such bullshit all this drama over food.

You reposted this from TMZ implying the DOW should not procure special meals for servicemen. Do you realize that these meals are a longstanding Sunday tradition for deployed servicemen as a relief from standard chow and a morale booster? I served on submarines and overseas and the average civilian cannot comprehend the effect of a relatively decent meal on unit morale. x.com/tmz/status/203…

I’ve received two different texts from Keating’s camp. Today when they sent a nice little story, I let them know it was a nice story but they just sent a text to a McCall volunteer. Thinking I would get an auto unsubscribed from then, I got a snarky comment from them. He has the most immature volunteers, some which are possibly groypers. I deleted and reported as Spam. 🤷🏻‍♀️😈

@tshugart3 I'd like to just give them a typical week underway during ORSE or TRE workups just to shut them up.

Anyone can be forgiven for not understanding this brief video where there seems to be multiple violations of tradition and policy. There aren’t. Everyone in the video appears to follow the requirements of their rank, position, and the circumstances. The issues here are twofold 1. Your novice commentary on something you don’t understand (forgivable) and 2. Your leap to attribute your misunderstanding to racism (unforgivable without apology.) My take on the video as a prior Navy E5 and retired Navy O5 with multiple Joint overseas tours: 1. Under normal circumstances, SECWAR is owed a salute by EVERYONE in the military EXCEPT Medal of Honor awardees. 2. SECWAR returns the salute of the Air Force Staff Sergeant with the vicious mustache as he passes him. The Staff Sergeant is covered due to the ceremonial requirements of his position. 3. SECWAR does NOT salute the white Admiral because the Admiral does not initiate. The Admiral does not initiate because he is following flight line rules designed to prevent headwear from becoming FOD and is therefore uncovered. He is not allowed by Navy tradition and policy to salute while uncovered (policies and traditions that do not apply in the Army or Air Force.) 4. SECWAR does not salute the black Navy Master Chief because the Master Chief does not initiate for the same reasons as the Admiral. 5. SECWAR RETURNS the salute of the Air Force Colonel. The Air Force Colonel initiates the salute as allowed while uncovered by Air Force tradition and policy. It seems to me that all are in keeping with military tradition and policy and any attempt to attribute racist intent is cynical grievance mongering. YIT, Ray

Historically white U.S. soldiers frequently refused to salute Black officers U.S Secretary of War Pete Hegseth saluted all of the white soldiers exept the black soldier. Failing to salute an officer based on race is a serious violation of military protocal that lead to discipline

@JoshYoung They all know the rules of the game. Make the money while you can because when oil drops (as it always does) layoffs will come for OFS workers. I used to be able to tell the price of WTI based on the number of new Raptors driving around Midland. Some things never change.

I like oilfield workers. They do a difficult and often dangerous job. They are frequently separated from their families for days or weeks. And their work is critical to keeping our lights on, our transportation fueled, and food on our plates.

Standing on the brow for evening colors is a memory that will never fade. A duty day complete and hopefully without incident! Regardless of the day’s success, we paid honor to the colors. Only during RIMPAC was it painful as we held the salute for every country’s national anthem!

As topside watch, I would salute the ensign. As below decks I turned on the Anchor Lights mounted on the flagstaffs fore and aft. A memorable thing, all the boats, of several different classes, would turn their lites on simultaneously. We were all in this together, we still are.

Lower base Groton, CT evening colors As a nub on USS Narwhal SSN-671 I was assigned to evening colors. 2 men at the stern for the ensign with 2 at the bow for the jack. All boats at the piers would receive a signal from the commodore’s observation deck 1/2 youtu.be/8hTaG7jHxik?si…
