After an incredible 32+ years at TWC, I'm embarking on a new journey due to company restructuring. I'm immensely grateful to all of you who've been part of this amazing ride! As hurricane season approaches, I can't wait to reconnect on another network. Stay tuned!

@LizAnnSonders Is he a dog or a goat? Can't tell from the hind legs. If he eats grass and clover . . .

My less-than-helpful colleague Wilbur today. Perhaps he went to an office party last night (to which I apparently wasn’t invited) and is in hangover mode. I’ll let him sleep it off before giving him any more tasks for the day.

Down under for a spell — south of Earth’s equator. Not interested in observing which way the water circulates in anybody’s toilet bowl. But the revolving doors in Australia do, in fact, spin clockwise. Opposite from those in the USA.

What a save...A partly sunny day at a youth baseball game in Jacksonville, Fla., turned scary in an instant for a boy who got caught in a dust devil. A video shows a dust devil suddenly forming around the 7-year-old catcher as a pitch was heading to home plate on Saturday.

Congratulations to a true legend, @alroker, who was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame last night. It’s an honor to have you as a friend, mentor, and to get to work together every morning. It was a special evening for our @TODAYshow family. 📸: Mark Reinertson

Jason’s take js spot on. In guiding and editing my writing, Jason’s always sort of allowed me to use any word I want so long as I define it, such that we can make teachable moments. His approach is what taught me to do the same in broadcast. The end goal is educating/edifying.
Capital Weather Gang@capitalweather

Interesting read. But don't these words -- when appropriate context is provided -- help educate/engage people in science. Is the net effect of buzzwords good or bad? Unclear what the takeaway is... Jason, CWG

I believe this is defensible as Subtropical Storm Arlene... data supports it. It's largely abandoned its fronts, the winds meet the requirement, it has a clear closed circulation, it looks to be warm-core... NHC has their reasons not to name it I suppose. Maybe in post-season?

A VERY bizarre thing to be talking about in January… the TROPICS! Yes, really. We have a pocket of thunderstorms flirting with the idea of becoming a “subtropical” storm over the Gulf Stream. It’s at the core of a broader mid-latitude low. Very strange. @fox5dc @foxweather
