Centennial High School graduation in Franklin, Tennessee was held outdoors despite heavy rain and lightning
Weather is known in advance so the caroming could have been moved indoors but school officials had a “Rain or Shine” Policy so the Pre-Set Plans had to move ahead
They knew the rain was coming but thought they could get the ceremony done before the rain and didn’t want to move the ceremony into the gym. From what I could find they didn’t know if everyone would fit
They even had a backup plan incase it rained
Staff indicated that if it rained on Thursday, they’d try again Friday and go indoors if needed then. They stuck with the original Thursday plan rather than moving it to Friday
Many parents and attendees were extremely frustrated, calling it unsafe due to the lightning strikes. They were disappointing because it was such a milestone

Tax expert explains if you make under $250,000/year, it’s NOT worth trying to be creative with the tax code
“When you're $200,000, $250,000 and less in income, just pay your taxes.
You're not at a point yet where it makes sense to go and try to be creative and fancy with the tax code because truthfully, you'll probably end up spending more money trying to figure it out than actually, you know, saving money.”

NEW: Teens start fighting and throwing chairs at each other in a DC Chipotle just hours after U.S. Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro said she would prosecute parents of teens involved in "teen takeovers."
One teen was seen throwing a children's highchair.
"We’re going to charge them, and if you drop your kid off and you fail to supervise them or you let them skip school to join the chaos, you are going to face fines, court-ordered classes and possible jail time," Pirro said last week of "teen takeover" violence.
Pirro said the parents of teens who carry out violence could spend up to six months in jail.
Do it.

Last night, on May 8, 2026, officers arrested 22 people between the ages of 12 and 21, as part of a teen takeover.
The large group of teens attempted a takeover in the area of Curtis Hixon Park, causing significant disruptions, fights, and other issues in the park and surrounding areas.
“This type of reckless and criminal behavior will not be tolerated in our city,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “What began as a large gathering quickly escalated into disorder and activity that placed others at risk. Parents need to know where their children are and who they are with...we will continue taking strong enforcement action against anyone who threatens the peace and safety of our community."

Somehow there is an X debate going on right now about VA disability ratings.
I'm hearing some idiots saying if it's not from a combat wound, you should not get a disability rating.
To which I rebut with the following; 20+ years of:
-12 mile ruck marches.
-5k/10k/10 mile/every other distance runs.
-Parachute landing falls.
-Obstacle and confidence courses.
-Vehicle rollovers.
-Helicopter hard landings.
-Heat injuries/cold injuries.
-Anthrax shots, COVID shots, all other kinds of shots.
-"Here, take some Motrin, you'll be fine."
-Weeks/Months/Years of high stress and little sleep.
-Extended periods of poor nutrition.
-Weird diseases you can only get in places like Afghanistan or Korea.
-Burn pits.
-All other manner of training injuries.
-Never telling anybody you are injured because if you do they might pull you from that leadership position you fought so hard to earn.
You do all that for 20+ years, your body will be torn up, I promise.
The US military is a physically demanding place, no matter what your branch of service or MOS. Training accidents happen routinely. People die in peacetime accidents, routinely.
The idea that a VA disability rating should only come from something that also earns a Purple Heart is nonsense.
If anything, our warriors are consistently denied VA disability ratings for what are clearly service-connected ailments.

@DeptVetAffairs favor? Please don't encourage your suppliers who perform compensation and pension exams to say "thank you for your service" at the end of an appointment. In my experience, a majority of the examiners say it in the most flippant way. The feelings it elicits, well....IYKYK

NEW: Lynnwood, WA councilmember Isabel Mata: “To me, a pride flag is way more relatable than an American flag. I would not raise an American flag at my house because I wouldn't…I wasn't even born here. But I would raise a pride flag."
