What if Target & Walmart stopped online drops all together. They could give those 1,000s and 1,000s of product to the store itself, where people would be limited to one or two items per person Would eliminate the bot problem and minimize scalpers reselling, no? 🤔

A lot of things can be true: - The Kevin Durant burner saga cast a dark cloud over the team that impacted the locker room. Pretty disappointing to hear that was never actually addressed. - Kevin Durant was undeniably the best Rocket this season. There were so many games where his two-way impact was the only reason this injured Rockets team won the game. - From STRICTLY a value and on court production standpoint, the Kevin Durant trade was overwhelmingly the right decision. You make that trade 7 days a week. - I do not want to trade Kevin Durant this summer.

I think they’re going after Trading cards. People sell and buy cards on eBay. eBay also owns TCGplayer (a secondary market place for trading cards.) there’s also rumors of them acquiring the card grading company PSA. Which has a monopoly over the market already. If GameStop acquires both they can pretty much control the entire secondary market of trading cards.

Amen Thompson is a tremendous young player that I hope retires here but the prospect of giving him a max contract this summer, quite frankly, is a little bit terrifying. Right now, not only can he not shoot but he also can’t dribble. I don’t think that last point has really been absorbed by conventional wisdom. That being said, I do think the Rockets really did him a disservice this season by playing him at point guard and you saw those negative effects on both ends. I also do think his shot—at least off the dribble—will eventually come. I had been noting the soft touch on his floaters (coming out of the right-left euro), but as the season progressed, we saw some middies sprinkled in with surprisingly decent form. All bets are off if that becomes consistent. An absolutely fascinating player given that his upside is a top 5 player, but so much of his ceiling is theoretical.

Ime Udoka in February describing his read & react offensive system… “We’re not the fastest team pace-wise anyway so I don’t want to stop to call plays every miss” “From there it’s mainly dead balls and after time outs [that we run sets]” “I want to get to the point where guys are comfortable reading a mismatch” The Rockets scored just 8 points in transition in game 6, seldom ran sets, scored an anemic 0.78 ppp on ATOs, and couldn’t create mismatches JJ Redick knew that if he minimized mismatches by playing straight up man-to-man, single coverage, switch everything with late shot clock scram switches back when needed, then the Rockets players would be left to solve it on their own. No discipline to a system and no player-led playbook that could create advantages. Time for a new offensive philosophy…

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Joel Embiid. He’s gone through a postseason injury every season… So for him to fight through this appendicitis surgery to lead a 1-3 comeback against the ECF favorites with 34 in game 7 is special. Huge S/O to him.

Hear me out… If Ime Udoka returns as coach, the left-field trade the Rockets should consider is Fred VanVleet for Ja Morant… Both are below average 3PT shooters (both shot 34.5% in their last full seasons). But Ja gives you POA advantage creation and elite transition that the Rockets desperately need and will never get with Fred. Especially the 32-year-old post-ACL version Ja’s best season was paired with Steven Adams… proven pick n roll read and react instant offense (what Udoka is hell bent on) Ceiling is higher, KD plays off-ball and lives off Ja’s paint pressure. Stone would never do it cos it’s too risky… but it’s exactly the kind of ballsy move you make when you’re this far from contending and entering KD’s age-38 season
