Thankful to work with our athletes of BHS each day. Also thankful for big squats. C.P. isn’t a large athlete, but he moves large weight.

Some people never truly appreciate what you bring to the table, until they see you in action at another table!

“Two weeks no weight room, full go on the field” the doctor’s note EVERY strength and conditioning coach hates, here’s why… But before I explain why this is such a dumb idea, a wildly unpopular opinion: usually the athletes wagging these notes into training are the ones who don’t WANT to lift, not the ones who don’t NEED to lift. Anywho…

@mboyle1959 @MarkHoover71 I try to train similar to my athletes, but have realized for a while that time has passed. I’ve made peace with the fact that as a couple more years pass, my training will need to change as well. The young coaches and gurus don’t have the same life experience that others have.

Why is it always young men giving advice to old men about how old men should train? Just saw another 30 year old spouting off about training when you’re old. Get back to me at 65. 😉

"We don’t have a youth sports problem—we have a childhood problem. Kids don’t run, climb, wrestle, or play anymore… Then we wonder why they’re slow, weak, and injured." #LTAD

It's wild that athletes see teammates / classmates in sport getting injured on the regular, often times needing surgery, & they still do NOT think that skipping the weight room is often a contributing factor. Pain is often a great teacher, but laziness might be a bigger issue.
