The new DSA platform is something. The government will take over food production and sales, ditto energy, medicine, airlines, and housing. Universal rent control, the end of capitalism, and a classless society (stated elsewhere in the platform). This doesn't sound like Sweden!

Exactly 1 month ago, the 24-y-old anti-regime protesters Javad Zamani & Abolfazl Saeedi were hung for taking to the streets to protest against the regime during the 2026 January Massacre. The communist regime in Poland also used to murder political prisoners and carry out mass-shooting of people protesting on the streets. After the Helsinki Accords of 1975, the West started putting more and more pressure on the communist dictatorships in Eastern Europe regarding how they treated political prisoners. It didn't solve every problem in the East, but it did improve the conditions for dissidents. Today, the West also must do more to pressure the Islamic regime into stopping the executions in Iran.
